Mutton Dosakayi recipe Mutton: 2 Pounds (cubes or small pcs) Dosakayi: 1 (Medium pcs) Ginger Garlic paste: 1 tbsp Salt: As needed Turmeric: Pinch Red Chilli Power: as needed(I like it spicy s0 1 tbsp) Corriander Powder: 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder: 2 tsp Yogurt: 1 tbsp Oil:1 Tbsp Onions: Large: 1 Green Chillies: 5 Tomato Ripe: 1 Dry garam masala (Shah jeera, Cardamom, Cinnamon, start anise and lavangam) Cilantro: half Bunch Preparation: Marinate the mutton with Yogurt, Corriander Powder, Chilli Powder, Turmeric powder, Ginger Garlic Paste and salt. Keep refrigirated overnight. Take out the mutton marinade from the fridge 2 hours prior to cooking. Dice the onions and chillies. In a pressure cooker cook, put the mutton marinade and 1/2 cup water and coock it until tendre ( three whistles). Do not over cook mutton. In a vessel, heat the Oil and add dry garam masala and once it starts splattering add the diced onions and green chillies. Now add curry leaves. Add some salt to the onions. Once the onions are half cooked add diced tomatos and Cucumber Pieces(seeds are your choice). Make sure the cucumber is not bitter. Add less than a tea spoon of ginger garlic paste. Once the cumber is translucent or cooked add the mutton from the pressure cooker. Cook it for 5 mins on low flame. Add the garam masala powder to the curry. Taste the curry and if the mutton is tendre, cucumber is cooked properly and taste is as desired, add the cilantro. Simmer for 2 mins. Turn off the stove. Serve with White Rice, Onion sclices and Lemon wedge. |
