Bangalore: A 25-year-old woman died after she slipped while climbing down a rope during a mock drill in Bangalore.
The mock drill was organised by the Fire Service Department in the premises of Bombay Rayon Fashion Limited in Peenya district of Bangalore.
The girl was trying to come down the three-storey building with the help of a rope when she fell to the ground and died on the spot. There were no safety nets in place for the drill.
One eyewitness version of the incident suggests the girl's hand slipped from the man who was holding her hand as she tried to make her way down. However, police sources have told NDTV that the rope she was using to climb down could have given way causing the victim's death.
The fire department as well as the management of Bombay Rayon Fashion was not available for comment immediately on the incident.
