Preti okkadu aadi agenda to aadu untadu, if you dont have an agenda for your self you will be far behind in the race.. Always being technical doesn't help, you need to have many soft skills which actually help you to grow. Technical will help with the client, Soft skills will help within the company.
Again right time right place is most important in services company. Bending is expected by default by all these companies, If not you there will be someone else to do the bending/hard work.
Bottom line never work for company and then yourself, work for yourself and then the company.

i did IT Project Manager/System Architect brain bench certifications all in 2 days over the weekend and forwarded certifications/transcript number to my manager. 
for getting some publicity i forwarded my brianbench trascript number to my dev folks
 and self advertising abt my latest certifications in smoke breaks.. tappadu mana kosam chesukovali.
i have talked to folks i have rappo in client adm's/dev managers over span of next coming weeks/months on some occassions ther are going to communicate good things to my manager.
iam doing the sketch,above tht after india trip i will do pmp and throw at my manager face.i will be completing 2yrs since my last promotion, i dont have chance this yr but atleast they will nominate. |

The first year I joined, client ey daivam anukuni day and night bending chesaa...account ki okati choppuna every qtr best bender ani oka award isthaaru which is kind of tough to get..and I got it twice the same year for 2 qtrs..scene cut chesthe year end appraisal lo I got the second rating bucket...
Manager mallu gaadu...ekkado verey location lo untaadu,vaadiki naa day today activities aksharam mukka thelavadhu...one on one lo adigaa...rendu qtr lo best bender award ochhaaka kooda first bucket iyyakapothe em rating raa idhi ani...
vaadu cheppindhi idhi...client work everybody is doing in the company...what is that additionally you are contributing to your company which makes you different from others ?? Also if you did something good, how will we know unless you market yourself...?? so konchem gnaanodayam ayyindi...ofcourse ventane verey client ki maara inkoka arava manager occhaadu...
but previous mgr cheppina daani prakaaram oka pakka client bending inkoka pakka maa company bending rendu shuru chesinaa....inka cheap politics cheyyatam mana valla kaadhu kaabatti I put in more effort on the client side and learnt business...so SME cum developer type annattu...daani valla bhayankaramaina dependency build ayyindhi..eedu lekapothe bandi nadavadhu annantha range ki manager gaadiki message andhaali...idhi self marketing anukuntaavo leka migathaa team members ni indirectgaa control cheyyatam anukuntaavo kaani its all pure hardwork..no foul play...
aa tharavaatha ratings,promotions rendu manchigaa occhaayi....idhi andariki work avuthundi ani generalize cheyyatledhu...but my suggestion is create a dependency on you...if they want to get rid of some people in your team,your name should only come last...also parallelly work on company activities,what ever it may be...perapring timesheets,SOW's,engagement decks, RFP's, tech support for other accounts etc etc...first lo idantha goddu chaakiri anipisthaadhi kaani u will learn lot of stuff...thelivainodaithe client work and company work rendu balance chesthaadu...antha talent ledhu kaabatti naa laatodu double bending chesthaadu...end of the day pani cheyyakundaa timepass chesevaadiki 3yrs lo promotion vasthe ilaa ratings baaga occhinodiki 2.5 yrs lo vasthundi...so ee .5 yr kosam intha bending avasaramaa anedhi its upto you

i have seen very good north indian and ghorey managers. both telugu and arava managers are assholes. bad thing abt telugu managers is they dont encourage telugu's. Tamil will always pull other tamils up. |

share your experiences
If team size is 20+ onsite you have to be in proper group make proper connections with colleagues and managers and boast your daily work in the team, talk abt others mistakes, develop client relationships.what else..
can anyone avoid to do all this and live peace in desi mnc's.
say team has telugus, tamils, northies and manager is some telugu guy or tamil guy how will be the team dynamics.how do you manage.
majority vs minority applies here as well.. how do you go along in diverse work force + with office politics at the end to get 1st rating(its not sure even if you do 100% bending you will be given 1st rating) and get fromotions.. |
