Many legends retired on winning note but not the same with RD... i don't know why this happened only to RD. "The first to apologize, is the bravest. The first to forgive, is the strongest. The first to forget, is the happiest."

Rahul Dravid, a technically sound batsman, stylish and confident player. And a true gentlemen on and off the field. Success never went to his head, like others. Even though he was a front line batsman, he never shied away from wicket keeping, so that our team could accommodate one more batsman or bowler. How many players will like to shoulder this burden for a long time? Sure the bowlers from other times will feel relived that they need not bowl against The Wall in test cricket again. A great relief for them. Along with Kumble, he is the greatest team player my generation has seen. At a time when the alphabet D in Indian cricket meant Dawood, Diamond watches, Drawn test matches, along came a tireless warrior who would define D as Dependable. Among his countless innings, three spring to the mind – Calcutta 2001 ( back to the wall) This one was really one of the best from RD ever. I started from here as a fan of RD & now i can't imagine without him in Indian team. very special Headingley (Perseverance ) Adelaide (domination) Recently WI tour, he was at his best & i thought he will continue for another 2 to 3 years but sadly he announced his retirement on 9th of March might be black Friday for fans. In England tour he did well but WI tour was very challenging one. A true legend.. .his records speaks for itself. Helped India reach # 1 test ranking and probably the only player who has better away avg. than home. He helped India win and save countless test matches. Sachin on RD retirement ''For me there's only one Dravid. I will miss him in the dressing room and on the field," I was very sad on RD retirement day & almost cried. "The first to apologize, is the bravest. The first to forgive, is the strongest. The first to forget, is the happiest."
