Finally watched Simha @ Toronto on Saturday evening. Initial ga storm warning undhi and I was wondering how many people would be there at the theatre. Just came 5 min before the show started and was elated to see nearly 200+ people waiting @ the screening place. Later found out that the theatre capacity is nearly 320-350 and except first couple of rows it was full. So screening started straightaway and our youth rocked by screaming JaiBalayya which continued through out the film. 9.30 show ki matuku baga families kanipincharu.
Anyway, I thought like many others the script was just normal, time tested and old, but what made it unique was the screenplay and characterization of Balayya in both roles. Andharu second half gurinchi chepthunnaru review lo, so my mind was prepared that it would be awesome in second half, but first half I had my doubts of how Boyapati would deal with young NBK. I have to say he scored 100/100 points at script stage itself by giving him a dignified professor role. Edho allari chillari ga chupinchakunda young NBK ki chala weight add chesadu through his characterization and dialogues. Samajam lo jarige common problems ni theesukoni aa character ni allukotam kuda Boyapati chesina background work ki adham paduthundhi. Comedy koncheme unna, baga pandindhi, inko few comedy scenes and inko super song pettina bagane undedhi first half anipinchindhi, since screenplay was tight we never felt bored. Some scenes (acid scene etc.), pelli ki vachinappudu, adavalla battalu kadhu mana mindset marali anatam etc. scenes rocked.
Ika second half vachindhi, I have to say NBK was phenomenal in second half. He saved his best for this role guys. I have never seen a getup which made Balayya look more glamorous than this. Asala dialogues kani, aa 40 min. lo vache all scenes arupulu, background score kevv, asala NBK ni chudataniki villains hospital vachinappudu, NBK metlu diguthunte vache background matuku chethi ventrukalu nunchunnai. Boyapati NBK nunchi rabattina performance matuku amogham. Violent expressions, kathi la dusukupoye dialogues oka ethu aithe, asala narsimhaswamy song lo Balayya pette expressions, chanipoyemundhu koduku ni chusi pette expressions matuku out of the world, karagani gunde undadhu, "super anthe" "sabhash..no words" anani noru undadhu, asala manaki ye directors kuda ee angle of NBK ni ippati varaku chupinchakapotam mosam chesinattu anipinchindhi. Ee vishayam lo Boyapati ki enni thankyou lu cheppina thakkuve. Asala Balayya ee role ki pranam posadu, nadaka nunchi, vachakam and chuse chupulu varaku excellent performance, A+ anthe, simham la garjinchadu, simha ane title ki nyayam chesadu, oka -ve comment cheyataniki kuda hardcore fanatics ki emi undav, he just mesmerised the whole audience and I can see why it is running full houses at the boxoffice. Also second half aipoyinemmate, ekkuva suthi lekunda neat ga climax end chesadu, aa janaki song lekapoyina second half baguntundhi, I felt the other two songs in second half are too good and janaki doesn't match the quality standards in either taking or just the song by itself. So lepesina evadu feel avvadu. Anyway at the end of the day, Boyapati cracked the code and when fans were expecting plate meals, he served Biryani. For others it might be just plate meals, inko 2 awesome songs, couple of comedy scenes and a bit of editing work here and there manage chesi unte vallaki kuda Biryani ayyedhi, anyway this is more than enough to rock the boxoffice because as you know our hero is none other than "BOXOFFICE BONANZA".
