Technical Departments: Dialogues by Balabhadrapatruni Ramani are funny and the little spoof on Bommarillu’s climax dialogue is outright hilarious. But they too vary from being too clichéd to sometimes heartwarming. Cinematography by Gummadi Krishna left something more to be desired. Editing wasn’t great too. It was Anoop Rubens’ background music which becomes a good part of the story telling, and manages to cover the drawbacks in the film. Art too was worth noticing.

Bottomline: A film like this is tough to give a final judgment on. But Andari Banduvaya is about today’s youth, and while this isn’t the main topic of the film, it talks about where youth stands today. It touches topics like Altruism, Money and Premarital Sex and argues about them taking both sides. While it is good to see Telugu movies finally happening on such topics, the directors need to look at the length of the film, the costs such lengths incur, and the lost audiences because of it.

Watch this movie without hoping to see a wonderful movie. You will enjoy most of it.

Chandra Siddardha is a director with different sensibilities – plays middle ground between commercial films and art films. He made Aa Naluguru, that won him several awards and accolades and later made a slightly commercial hit Madhumasam. Now he chooses a subject that is off the beaten track for Andari Bandhuvaya. Without a doubt the film has an inherent appeal mainly because of its genuine theme. Yet, the director has not completely achieved in bringing out an engrossing film. The movie’s intentions are good but the director deviates from the main storyline just to fill the run time. That is the major problem for the movie.

If only it were made in more taut manner and focused on the main theme of a young person mortgaging his heart and eyes to help a friend and consequently falling in the situation of losing them, the film would have been better. But the movie goes this way, that way and another way, before coming to the main point. Thus the impact is not that effective although the plotline and the sincerity to tell a story far from regular commercial movies are clearly evident.

On the whole the Andari Bandhuvaya is okay film, although it reminds of ‘Aa Naluguru’ elements like RK’s character is another version of Kota’s in Aa Naluguru. The director has faulted in not evoking drama in the conflict between RK and Sharwanand. It may not appeal to all.

Andari Bandhuvaya has inherent appeal thanks to genuine and sincere theme but it may not appeal to all. It is too slow and lacks any entertainment. On the whole, it may remain a nice attempt.

Andari Banduvaya may not be a brilliant, intense, dramatic film like Aa Naluguru but Chandra Siddarth shows that perfection can be projected on screen only when a job is done wholeheartedly. He weaves an interesting narrative of good people who spread goodness, radiate positive vibes and show their benevolence in thought and deed; the best part of the film is that all characters exude happiness that is so visible on their visages, each frame from the first to the last spills character that is selfless and sacrificing.

The movie is all about giving in some form or the other, there is no iota of selfishness, there is dignity in work, and finally a beautiful message that inheritance, legacy is not about blood it is to do with character, the good qualities that one imbibes. The film is not preachy, it doesn't wear heavy emotions on it's sleeve, there is humour, there is romance, there are soothing melodies, simple yet meaningful dialogues. The lead pair share a bonhomie that is infectious. Even the villain has a golden heart and no mistake committed by the characters in the film are big enough to be called blunders.

The film has no big stars, no big names, no item numbers or crackling, over-the-top dialogues. There are no compliments, no obligations, there is just love, sunshine and happiness. Watching the film makes you feel good, feel nice and feel pure. It's like a feeling you get when you give up non-vegetarian food, it's like adopting a child, it's like living in a utopian world.

The screenplay carries a lot of conviction, the writing is not superlative but suits the mood of the film. Naresh brings in utmost level of authenticity to his character as Sharwanand's father.

It's a totally contrasting role that Sharwanand gets to play here, very refreshing, he doesn't blow trumpets about his Samaritan work, he lets others take the credit..he has learnt all of it from watching his father. In Prasthanam he shares the limelight here he hogs it, be it dances, his expressions everything is controlled, he doesn't make a big deal over any emotion. His choice of roles show his maturity and range as an artiste. He is supported by Padma Priya who quietly steals the scenes, she acts like a veteran and plays the role of a working woman who's shouldering heavy responsibilities with panache. Both Padma Priya and Sharwanand complement each other well, their chemistry works and how!

RK has got one of the finest roles ever after his work in Hyderabad Nawabs, he shows his forte is just not comedy. All the characters have added their share of spark to the narrative, the camera work adds to the vibrance of the theme, the title song couldn't be more apt. Editing could have been better. The story? It's wafer-thin, about people needing each other and being there for each other. A world of humanity, happiness. Watch it once and you will see it work on you asap, you are sure to find god in every person you talk to, every animal that crosses you and every bird that flies past you. Andari Banduvaya is a celebration of a good life, who wouldn't want to be a part of it?

It’s a movie made by the director of ‘Aa Naluguru’. I starting watching the movie with closed mind-set at the outset. For my eyes those have watched grandeur of artificial settings on screen in many films, initially, it sounded dull and low. I looked at the hero in this film as ‘perfectionist material’ who may bring boredom through out the movie. But slowly, something captivated me and I was drowned in the bliss of humanity. I could see a Utopian Village, Utopian hero and Utopian thought…! It went on as a pleasant journey on the waters of humanity.

Any audience watches a movie connecting himself to the hero on screen. He enjoys the bliss of watching something that hero does, which he cannot do in real life. That has been the success of any cinema since 77 years in India. That has been the connection between the screen hero and common audience. If that were the case, in stead of getting connected to the violent and vulgar elements in a hero, it sounds certainly better to connect with the humanity, sacrifice and service motive in him that can be practiced in daily life.

‘Andari Bandhuvaya’ is one such movie which happens very seldom on Telugu screen. Such films should reach every eye and then surely it reaches its heart. Indeed, it’s a movie that culminates the essence of humanity with eyes and heart. One needs to look at the world with the eyes of this protagonist and need to speak with the heart of the same.

It’s a practical Vedanta, the movie showcases. ‘Live for others to enjoy the true nectar of life’ is the epitome of this film. Many dialogues and scenes in this film cut the heart deep and groove-in a pure form of thought. Writer Balabhadrapaatruni Ramani deserves right mention here.

“Pakshulaki konchem dhanyam, pasuvulaki konchem ghraasam, manishiki konchem saayam- ade jeevitam”- What a quotable dialogue?!

“Bathakadame kaadu, chaavadam kooda costly ye”- What a reality if we look at the present expensive last days on Corporate Hospital beds?!

“Nee Daggara koorchuni kaasepu edavochchaa?!”- What a human angle?! The scene between Padmapriya and Sharwanand is indeed moving.

The film is a feel good treat and it gives a strong message of how a positive outlook in life is required in today’s commercial and materialistic world. It might be too unrealistic to expect the viewers to transform once they see the film but even if one implements or demonstrates atleast 5% of the kindness then the world will be a much better place to live in. This is a clean family entertainer with its own element of humor, sentiment, drama and attachment. The dialogues are the major highlight of the movie while the script is very strong and intense. Screenplay was effective and it was supported well with the background score. Though two songs were non situational, they were well taken and quite melodious. Lyrics by Chaitanya Prasad are sensible and filled with good poetry. Editing was smooth. Costumes were suitable to the backdrop and the art department was realistic. The film has enough substance to make it big in film festival or bag few awards. All it takes is some gentle effort by the makers to promote it in the right manner. This is suitable for all genre of audience and everyone will have a point or two to take back home and use it in their life. Credit must be given to Chandra Siddartha for coming up with a thoughtful venture.

Youngsters should watch it and parents should make their children watch it to cultivate human values.

Bottom Line: Don’t Miss It…..
Communism is brilliant on Paper. How it's Implemented will matter
