Just with worst case scenario , you can see the potential of TFI . I have seen and know many instances where TFI is used as a channel to convert BLack money to white by over writing the costs . I have absolutely no clue why any real business man would produce a Telugu film. The risk to reward so laughable. You have a 1% chance of making 4 times profit of your risk. You have a 3% chance of breaking even. And 5% chance of making a profit of 1x your risk capital (I am being generous here).
You have a 10% chance of losing 80% to 100% of your investment (disasters and movies that never get released). You have a 50% chance of losing more than 50% your investment(flops). And a 35% chance that you’ll lose between 10% to 50% of your capital investment (average films).
That goes to show you that there are only 4 kinds of producers-
1) those who have no value for money (losing 10 to 20 cr is nothing to these folks),
2)those who think that they can have a good time with the glamor gals,
3)those who are naive and get tricked into film making by some cunning filmy people
4) and finally those who are sincerely passionate about film making (very very few)
You actually have better chances of winning at a Las Vegas casino! And it’s much cheaper to indulge at a Mexican or a Caribbean sex resort!
Oh BTW, these numbers are much worse for the distributors- especially overseas distributors. Worse still, in the case of distributors there is no glamor quotient at all!!
