KCR: KCR has demanded that those who resigned for Telangana be unanimously elected. He said this was the last time he was asking it and would not again ask any one not to contest, after today. He said the people would themselves make their response known in the elections. He said both the TDP and the Congress would face the wrath of the people in the elections. He said his party had appealed to other parties not to contest the by elections only because of the decision of the Telangana JAC. He said it was not as if his party could not fight the elections.

HYDERABAD: Unsure of its legislators retaining the 10 assembly seats it held, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) wants to field family members of those who allegedly committed suicide in the last Telangana agitation in the ensuing bypolls.
A preliminary assessment of the party said, with the Congress and the TDP likely to contest the polls, the going will not be easy for the TRS in at least the four constituencies of Sirpur, Chennur (SC) and Mancherial in Adilabad district and Koratla in Karimnagar. "Our reports say that TRS can even lose these seats," a leader said.
According to party sources, a high-level TRS meeting last week discussed the bypolls and the party's prospects and decided that the best way to overcome this uncertainty was to field candidates belonging to the families of those persons who had allegedly committed suicide for the Telangana cause since December last year.
The sources said that TRS leaders have already interacted with the family members of A Kistaiah, a police constable who committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver in Nizamabad in December last year, and Adilabad native and student K Bhooma Reddy, who committed suicide by hanging himself in Hyderabad in January this year.
"Both of them belonged to middle class families and the relatives have shown interest in contesting the elections. Our district leaders have already met these families. We will meet the family members of the other victims as well very soon," said a TRS leader.
According to the sources, the party wants to zero in on those families where there were spontaneous local response after the incidents. There were protests across Nizamabad after the suicide of Kistaiah while Bhooma Reddy's suicide echoed both in Osmania University in Hyderabad and in his native Adilabad district.
