Of course you should not depend on one source of fuel. you have to have a mix of Coal/Hydro/Gas/Nuclear/Boi-mass/Wind/Solar etc.. when it comes to utility scale, for example in the US, it's still 48%coal, 22% gas, 20% Nuclear, Hydro 6%, all renewables together 4%. Indulo Solar vachi less than 0.5% ante that shows how uneconomical it is. There is a scope to increase the renewables but there is NO chance of replacing the other sources with renewables. |

We are building north america's biggest PV solar plant which will go in to service by Sept this year. stupid govt signed a PPA for 42cents a kWh for 20 yrs, so we took advantage. but the people i.e., tax payers got ripped off. a gas based plant would have produced power at less than 8 cents a kWh evenafter you load it with CO2 penalties. solar plant's availability is 17% compared to 96% for gas. it took 1,600 acres of prime farm land to install 80MW worrh plant
natural gas based plant total installed cost vachi less than $1,500 per kW where as Solar ki $5,000 |
