Telugu movies have been doing international business from quite some time but still, the situation is not so lucrative. Only a few films are reaping big fruits and it is the same case with Indian box office as well. The main reason for that is poor film making either with content or with presentation and no proper marketing of films. Here are the investments made and collections procured by Telugu films in USA in the year 2010.

So, looking at the table we can understand that the movie ‘Namo Venkatesha’ has made huge collections than any other Telugu movie so far this year. But still, it ended up the buyers with losses as they burnt huge investment.
The movies those made best collections this year are Vedam, Leader and Ye Maya Chesaave. They have really made the buyers happy. The audience also felt happier watching the sensible content in all the three films. Then comes the movie Adurs that made just a marginal profit on a whole. Despite made as mass entertainer it couldn’t gel well with US Telugu audiences.
The class appeal in Ye Maya Chesaave, Leader, Simha and Vedam is known for all. Still, they are the commercial winners at US Box office. This is an indication for Tollywood directors to think something different and present in sensible way than simply going ahead with routine masala ingredients.
The collections are better this year when compared to that of previous years.
Movies like Kedi, Rama Rama Krishna Krishna and Maro Charitra got huge losses even though big producer or star is associated with those. Once again Shekar Kammula proved that he is the real Leader in overseas market. Despite average show in Andhra which collected 15 crores, in USA it termed as a BIG hit.
The surprising factor this year is Balakrishna’s Simha. Before Simha, Bala Krishna never had market in USA and now it is proved that he can pull audiences with his mass punch dialogues in US also.
