yes mama i agree. kani Lax has always maintained that he was not comfortable as an opener and his stint as an opener is what has really dropped his avg and no of runs in my opinion. He shuld have been persisted with no 3 but Dravid was the best in that pos so no regrets. Still Aus to adetappudu or when dravid is out of touch Lax had come at no 3 and did well. saying so i am happy that he played superbly at no 6 and at no 5 after Ganguly left he is just phenomenal.

sachin, dravid, lachi, viru andaru career 6,7 lone start chesaru. the only reason i don't consider lachi to be as great as the other 3 is that, when the others got opportunities in the top order they made it count and made those positions permanent. lachi was unable to do that. thats why i think number 5-6 is the best position for him becos he made it count there. he is very comfortable at that position and the reason for him being more consistent in recent years. had lachi made opening and number 3 count who knows he might be averaging more than 50 by now.

Avgs okati chala ante ...Runs okati chala ani kuda adagochu mama.
Lax notouts enduku ekkuva unnayo question chesko... bcos he played most of the times with the tail and if the tail gets out and he remains notout is it his fault. If he ahd support from the other end he would have scored more runs and then got out after which the avg would remain the same still. so avgs do tell some story bcos we have not taken avergae after 4 or 5 innings we have taken the average of the scores that were made in more than 50 test innings and over a period of 3 years and that tells a fair story.
i am saying that Lax is no less compared to sachin and Sehwag. HE played his part to perfection and so did sachin and sehwag.

If u are still missing my point, I leave it here.
Lax played 73 tests from positions 1-5 for 11 100s and averaged 43. I would have hoped he did better than that.
But that is my opinion. If u r fine with it let's be happy for lax.

Mama all time great category loki ravalante 50+ undali mama average as a general notion apart from the value to the team. lax has a true value in the side and he has been great. but if has to be talked in level of sachin, viru and dravid I feel he should score more 100s and take his average to 50. at the moment he is in the right direction and I truly hope he does reach there.
as for other teams, Steve Waugh averaged 50+ batting at 5&6 with around 30 100s. I don't care about that though. I simply want lax to keep going the way he is at the moment.

113 tests for 16 100s and average of 47 is not enough for me. adhi naa opinion. doesn't matter if he batted at 5 or 6, he should have scored more hundreds and he knows it as well.

and averages 39+ in the last 3 years in odis with 5 100s and 15 50s. his only failure being this year where he played only 5 odis with 1 50.

too early enti mama. vijay had enough chances recently. he also played odis. but never made that mark. if you can't make a mark in the indian team in your first 10 games, u probably are not good enough at that time. yuvi, raina, rohit, virat lanti 100s kotte players ni pettukuni bench meeda, vijay gadini pettatam anedi impossible team lo when gambhir and viru both are playing. he will be always a substitute for them but can never make to the team on his own.
inka yuvi lite ane dani meeda nenu emi matladanu becos it doesnt make any sense to me. he is proven match winner. he scored a 50 in the first test too if you remember. IPL and t20 lo failure tappa nothing major. u r assuming about his form based on IPL and t20s. oka sari odis and testslo records chooste u will know he has done more than well in the last 3-4 years to deserve a place in the team. don't forget he never got a permanent place in the team till ganguly retired. he had to wait for 5-6 years for his place and now when he is getting his first good run, you want to take him out? that is not fair at all.

no doubt about that. the sad part for laxman at number 3 was that it was not technique or anything else at that time. he was in prime form. he used score easy 30s all the time. he just was unable to carry on and play for longer periods during that phase. it was the phase that defined his career. always in form but never was able to capitalize on that.

agree to the first part. as for batting at number 6, it is self implicated. he had a great chance at number 3 for 18months after the 281 where he couldn't capitalize. but still he played more that 100 tests and scored more than 7000 runs and that is enough for any player. he served the team well.
