I am a US citizen now with an OCI card which gives me all rights as an Indian citizen except for voting and buying agricultural property.

If I open an NRO account, I'll get interest on that which the bank won't report to IRS (here). I think it is my duty then to file taxes in USA. Another issue I see is the ease with which I can get the money back to the US when in need.

Hi Bewarse Brothers,

I had recently been researching to see who has the best rate out there to put my savings in. Looks like Capital One has the best rate out there. Since it is a reputable bank too, I think it is a good choice. They are currently giving an APY of 1.35 plus 10% bonus every quarter on the interest amount.

I hope this information is useful for some of you. If you guys find anything better, please let us know.
