That two motor-cycle borne youth had overtaken the convoy of chief minister K Rosaiah on Sunday night at Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar was no surprise to many of the citizens.
Though it exposed the chinks the security arrangements of the chief minister, it is not a new thing in Hyderabad, as the police have taken it easy with Rosaiah, because of he hardly commands any respect from any quarters. Normally, when a chief minister’s convoy has to pass through a route, the police would stop traffic at least five to 10 minutes in advance. But in case of Rosaiah, the police are taking it easy and there were many instances, when the police allowed the traffic to go even half a minute before his convoy passed through the area.
The other day, a van was allowed to go on the Secretariat route a minute before the Rosaiah’s convoy was to go through the route. The van broke down in the middle of the road and Rosaiah’s convoy had to slow down and pass by the side of the van. One can imagine if the breakdown of the van was an attempt by any terrorists or extremists. But with Rosaiah in the seat, everybody is talking it easy and security is no exception.
Remember even the CMO took Rosaiah easy when he went to Tirupati last month. The CMO officials failed to get his flights tickets confirmed and he had to travel on some other’s ticket. Just imagine whether they would have dared to do it if Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was alive!
