The allegations of exploiting Telangana issue for making a fast buck dogged Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao once again. The way KCR showered praises on Vijayawada Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal describing him as a “hero” and asserted that all those who were born in Telangana belonged to this region irrespective of their native place led to the suspicion that he might have entered into some deal with the Andhra leaders for making collection of money. Adding to the suspicion was the proposed meeting of KCR with industrialists from Andhra region to reassure them that their interests would be protected. “KCR seems to have entered into match-fixing with the Seemandhra leaders. Where is the need for him to make such statements praising Lagadapati and supporting the Andhra people in Telangana? And who gave authority to KCR to hold a meeting with Andhra industrialists? All this gives rise to suspicion that he is out to fund collection from Seemandhra leaders and businessmen. We won’t allow KCR to sell Telangana,” asserted veteran Congress leader G Venkatswamy. He declared that the formation of Telangana state would not be possible with the TRS president and appealed to the people not to believe in KCR. A large number of Telangana activists also staged a dharna in front of KCR’s residence and courted arrest. The OU students are also planning to agitate against KCR’s statements. So far, there is no proper clarification from the TRS president. |
