Position is in Sunnyvale, CA . Fulltime.
• Build scalable high-throughput networks for traffic exceeding 50+ million page
views/month.
•
• Work closely with the engineering team on deployments, troubleshooting and
capacity planning.
• Configure and maintain the production, corporate & development
environments, including load balancers, firewalls & VPN connectivity.
• Assist with administering and maintaining network infrastructure, databases and
backups.
• Help keep production hardware & software up to date.
• Participate in off-hours changes to address deployments & service outages.
• Educate and mentor other members of the engineering team on technologies, best
practices, etc.
Skills & Qualifications
• Strong network and systems administration skills across multiple platforms.
• Experience with a large-scale network architecture and associated issues.
• Minimum of 4 years experience administering Linux systems in a production
environment.
• Configuration and maintenance of common applications such as Apache,
memcached, MySQL, NFS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, and SNMP.
• Experience working with load balancing technologies and large-scale web server
farms.
• Knowledgeable with networking protocols, security and HTTP.
• Follow best practices of documentation & maintaining change logs.
• Experience working with MySQL - administration and backups.
• Experience administering software built on the Java stack a big plus.
• Any work with disaster recovery a plus.
• Ability to establish work priorities and manage workload autonomously.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
preferred.
