ROBO in my view is 2 films.
About 2/3rds of the movie upto first dismantling of ROBO is the first film which is a WESTERNIZED INDIAN FILM and SO GOOD that it will be liked by everyone.
The rest of the film is an INDIANIZED WESTERN FILM which is not upto the mark and will be enjoyed to some extent, only by people who love Hollywood films of that genre with heavy graphics.
Hats off to Shankar for his imagination and script of the movie. In such a great work, I could not understand one thing as to why he choose to return back the dismantled ROBO in such an illogically poor way. Instead of ROBO recovering itself he could have shown as if Danny collected the dismantled pieces and brought it back to operation.
Also the ability of ROBO to clone itself into multiple ROBOS, the FORMATION ability was not explained properly. Though the graphics of FORMATION were amazing for Indian standards, somehow it is not done interestingly and looked like a mess.
The performance of Rajani is awesome and Aishwarya looked gorgeous.
But all credits and discredits go to one and only Shankar.
As one of the website reviews summarized it in one simple sentence, the FILM COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER(BEST in my view) WITH LITTLE MORE CARE. |
