Sensation bedar .. I acquired EU passport in 2008 , but still I had to get surrender certificate for me and my son, but I just payed 20+20 Euros.For new Ex-Indian's like its 173 Euros or 200 dollars I belive.
Surrender certificate is very much essential , because every time you try to avail any services at any Indian embassy with your OCI or PIO card. They will ask you to furnish the surrender certificate to proceed furter.Better get it ASAP.

I heard you still have to take a letter or something that you surrendered your passport. This came into law very recently for people who lost indian citizenship since 2005.
Please do more research. I am just telling what I heard at the consulate. |
