Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi, perhaps, has done nothing for the people of his constituency, Tirupati, since he got elected in May last.
But now, there is something for Chiranjeevi to claim credit. As many as eight new trains have been introduced for Tirupati in the railway budget presented by Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday. They include: Tirupati-Coimbatore intercity express via Salem (Tri-weekly), Tirupati-Madurai Express (bi-weekly), Tirupati-Bangalore Intercity express (tri-weekly), Tirupati-Secunderabad Express (bi-weekly) via Pakala-Madanapalle, Hyderabad –Tirupati express, Tirupati-Chatrapati Sahu Maharaj terminus, Tirupati-Kurabakota passenger and Tirupati-Chennai passenger. Besides, a tourist train -- Pune-Ratnagiri-Goa-Bangalore-Mysore-Tirupati-Pune, also covers the temple town.
Interestingly, it was only a couple of days ago that Chiranjeevi wrote to Mamata Banerjee to introduce new trains. Now, he can claim credit for securing so many trains for the temple town! |
