The song ‘Kundanapu Bomma….’ Is nothing but a lift from the several tunes of club house music that one can hear. It is the rich visual presenta

tion that covers such flaws but giving the entire credit to Rahman is something unacceptable. The true essence of music lies in icons like Ilayaraja, K V Mahadevan, R D Burman, Amar Mohile etc and it is a fact that the life of a song composed by Rahman doesn’t last more than a season. Speaking about actual melody of songs, the number must have the ability to rejuvenate your senses even when it is played after years. That was something which the true icons could do and Rahman is not from that league.

This opinion of mine may not go down well with many but then, it is what I feel a strong truth. I agree that Rahman is a talented music maker but not to an extent where he can be given the status of a demigod of music. Perhaps there are many such talented wizards in our country who could just be suffering from a lack of opportunity.
