Pressure is said to be mounting on Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy from his well-wishers to come to an understanding, albeit for the time being, with Chief Minister K Rosaiah for his own future political career.
According to sources close to the family, Jagan deferred his plan to launch the Odarpu Yatra (consoling tour) from April 2 from West Godavari on the pretext of communal riots in the Old City of Hyderabad; but the actual reason is lack of cooperation from Rosaiah, who reportedly warned the local Congress at the field level against accompanying Jagan in the tour. The PCC president also made it clear to the cadres that it would be Jagan’s personal programme and the party had nothing to with it. Without the cooperation of the local cadres, it might not be possible for Jagan to make his tour success.
Sources said Jagan’s uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy and some advisors close to him suggested that he patch up with Rosaiah, so that there would no hassles in his tour. Taking a nod from him, Vivekananda Reddy and a couple of seniors are said to be negotiating with the chief minister to sink differences between him and Jagan. It is learnt that Jagan will meet the chief minister in a day or two as per the suggestions of Vivekananda Reddy.
If everything goes well, Jagan’s tour will begin from April 8 from West Godavari districts to garner the support of his fans and fill the void left over with his father’s untimely demise.
