Rao garu similar to you I have one school friend who has been reading Bhagwad Gita for long time

Actually just had a chat yesterday - hope this is help ful for beginners

You need to get the essence of the book. You don't need to memorize the slokas etc.
Then comes the next step. Knowing something of higher understanding doesn't mean you are done with it. Knowing and assimilating/practicing are 2 different entities. Practicing takes lot of time and patience: we got to understand and assimilate the deeper meaning of the content and then try to implement it;

Of course we will fail many times but we should raise every time we fall until one day we don't fall again. This is very difficult to practice therefore we should use techniques like meditation and yoga to accomplish our goals.

We can't do it all; However, even if you can practice some of those principles then it will transform your life and make your stress levels go down significantly and can lead a more meaningful and happier lives......
dreams don't work unless you do
