ubuntu is going on its own way with customizing gnome3. linux mint is same as ubuntu and they use gnome2. many people are using mint these days |

is a very stable version .. We configured it to work on a Dell PowerEdge xenon 40 Cores , 2TB RAM and Postgres , configured a custom DWH Appliance

no virus on linux from download or torrent sites. and linux typically runs faster on older hardware compared to windows |

I have used(tried) ubuntu, fedora, mint, opensuse, slax.
I like ubuntu, mint. And slax is good but can be only loaded from usb not easily on harddisk . |
