VK mama, siva sankari has been bench mark song in telugu film history that no one could meet. Thats shows the power of Ghantasala garu. There can be no singer who is as perfect as Ghantasala garu. That what he is.
pushpavilapam, bhagavadgeeta, devotional songs, padyalu ivvanni in pure telugu no one can ever come close to the purity of these. No matter what. No one can match his expressions, clarity of voice, perfect rendering.
However SPB has a GOD gifted voice which is ever youuthful even at this age. Which is not the case in Ghantasala mastaru, His voice faded away as is Mohd Rafi's. However Kishore voice was more powerful in his later part of career than his starting. It was as youthful as he was.
Yesudas is combination of GOD gifted voice and hardwork. He in his own way was superior in many areas.
I never draw comparision between SPB and KJY for very obvious reason that I was lucky to hear both voices, if I am biased towards one, I cannot enjoy the way I enjoy listening to them. I hear them with perfect adoration towards their divine voices. I never dare to think who is great that disturbs my listening pleasure even slightly.
I enjoyed Kishore the best, but Ilayaraja and SPB took front seat for almost a decade when I learnt Tamil and understand Tamil Literature
Listening to all these greats, having their impressions in mind, after say after 1995 or so, my music appetite has gone down, any movies released after are just 1-2 time listening only.
Inka Female singers teesukunte, I feel Lata and Asha are over rated singers just because they are Hindi/Marathi. Susheela garu is no less than and is Janaki garu. They are the best happened to South Film industry. Susheela gaarikunna pronounciation clarity, Janaki gaari ki unna expression, evariki ledu. Since they belong to south, they didnt get the due they are supposed to get.

ARR knew to become successful he need to break IR and SPB likes. Thus in the name of being different and offer variety he brought in lot of elements and people liked the change there by he was successful. However he had his own priorities and moved on thus giving room to his clowns to play around and they messed up the music big time.
Also there is no reasonable film makers who had good taste. That further messed up. How many pure Telugu songs we hear now a days?

Mana telugu music died after 1970's ani naa feeling. We never had a outstanding music directors. All great songs after that came from tamil music directors.
Hindi music had been of great quality until 1990's.(Late) same is with Tamil muic. I would without a doubt say that ARR was responsible for the downgrade or downfall of south Indian music. He did for a reason and his success route was followed by many blindly without knowing how. The music lacked naturality thus they are short lived

Most of hindhi songs are much better than telugu...offcourse few telugu songs are exceptional,might beat hindhi songs...but majority if hindhi songs,singers were much better than telugu...
