Thanks to all for the wishes. Will try and answer some of the questions. MBA help ayinda ante, yes ane cheppali. One of our senior VPs actually pushed me to do that and I think it definitely helped. Not that I learned a great deal there but management recognized the effort I.e., I did it while I was managing 8 active projects concurrently.
Ika compensation and other benefits ki vasthe, yes it is a different level. Business class travel even with in the country, executive pension, stock options, parking, vehicle allowance etc vuntayi. Base salary pedda ga perakkapoyina longterm benefits much better ga vuntayi.
Chaala mandi comments ivvala, it's long deserved and in fact it's delayed ani.
Formula is very simple. There is a no substitute for hard work. One of my bosses about a year and half told me as part of feed back "no one questions your intelligence, commitment and work ethic. There are some lingering doubts about your demeanour, you have to treat people nicer even when they are completely wrong and stupid. They have to feel good even after you gave them negative feed back and still want to work for you. I took this feed back in right spirit and made every effort not to piss off too many people

I reached my goal today. Got promoted to Director. It's immensely satisfying moment in my career. Not an easy journey but worth it. I am the first telugu guy to reach this level in our company. There are a handful Indians at director level and couple at VP level but they are all 5 to 10 years older than me. I am very happy today and wish my father is alive to see this. |
