Russia is the largest country in the world, covering more than one-eighth of the Earth's inhabited land area. Russia is also the world's ninth most populous nation. Extending across the entirety of northern Asia and much of Eastern Europe, Russia spans nine time zones and incorporates a wide range of environments and land-forms. From northwest to southeast, Russia shares land borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, and North Korea – that made Russia even more unique. Letting go of dry facts, here are the main reasons why we think you should travel Russia. lets start with the steps of the journey.. Airport Meeting interesting people at the airport already is something you'll notice right away .. Even on the plain itself.. The Russian Train The Trans-Siberian Railway spans almost all the way across the county, making it the single longest railway in the world. The 9200 kilometer (or 5700 mile) railway departs in moscow (located in European Russia) and crosses into Asia. It then makes its way to the Pacific Ocean port of Vladivostok where it reaches the end of its incredible journey. The entire journey non-stop will take you 152 hours and 27 minutes to complete. There are approximately 10 million more women in Russia than there are men. The imbalance was initially believed to the result of so many men dying during World War II. Thus, filled with unique individuals, the train in itself is a wonderful journey into the Russian culture. Basically, the long train rides give you the time to get to know many people.. Traditions & Rituals The Russian culture is one of the richest and most influential in the world. In Russia there are 160 ethnic groups that speak around 100 different languages. The larger population speaks Russian of course. The second language is Tetrian which is spoken by %5 of the population. The marvelous Russian literature reached its peak in the 19th century when authors such as Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Pushkin and Turgenev wrote some of the most influential books ever written. The music, ballet, painting and cinema were also hosts for great artist from Russia. Vodka There's a Russian proverb which goes: The church is near but the road is icy; the tavern is far but I will walk carefully. And there is no more inexorable stereotype of the Russian people than their traditional love of vodka, traditionally guzzled neat. The holiday season is usually marked by a week long binge; during this period, the average Russian is said to spend $400 on alcohol alone. Party anyone? Cheap vodka and great atmosphere make a vacation wonderful, indeed. Flower Superstition A dozen roses? No thanks! In Russia, men never give an even amount of flowers to a women. It is considered bad luck and is associated with funerals. Car wash Even while driving your rented car (another means of transportation), you'll get a chance not only to visit the touristic areas, but manage to take part in certain rituals and traditions Russian cities or villages have to offer, such as this traditional Car-Wash: Any type of car will do.. here's another of this particular ritual.. Banya Taking a dip in the Banya, a hot bath that looks a lot like the Finnish sauna, is one of the most popular and famous traditions. Russians visit public and private banyas even these days and spend a few hours in complete relaxation. Music & Art Russia is highly evolved in creativity and forms of expression. White Nights in St. Petersburg is considered a very special event you shouldn't miss. These nights are during June and July at the peak of the summer, when the nights are longer and the big cities host summer festivals and many cultural events. Sports Russia puts a lot of effort and money in sports. You can visit enormous sports stadiums or small training predesignated areas, and even take lessons in any type of sport - all super professional. The Russian teams are great in many kinds of sport and won a lot of medals and trophies. The two most popular are soccer and ice hockey. The Russians usually win in winter sports like Ski and Ice skating. Hunting Whether a sort or not, it is alive and kicking in Russia. Hunting season is basically all throughout the year depending on area. Hunting lover? You'll love it there. Super Cute Animals If you're not into hunting, and you love animals, the number of cute animals in Russia is high. really high. wild cats and foxes .. We feel as if we got lost in the wonders of Russia, let us regain focus, and return to the cities.. next page.. Club Scene Russians sure do know how to party!!
