but in passport the officer writes valid until the passport expiration date in the passport after stamping the entry date. Once the passport is renewed, we need to get it corrected thru a form applying online with valid details. Else even the online I-94 shows incorrect valid date.

what is the status of stamping on the passport?
If you comeback, the I-94 will be until the validity of Passport and there is a rule that passport must be valid be more than 6 months.
When I entered in January, at port of entry, my passport was expiring in November, so he went and checked for the passport validity rule for India was 3 months or 6 months. Also whether my passport was beyond 6 months and verified the rule with co-worker(next counter) and then wrote the valid until date till November.
So if you have passport expiring within 6 months, better to renew and go so that you cannot have problems at Port of Entry.

Travelling ki fine. Generally stamping time lo alaa min 6 month validity chustaaru. Port of entry lo nee passport expiry date varake entry istaaru. Once you renew passport, need to go back to airport and renew. But ippudu I-94 card ivvatle, antaa online. So don't know how it works |
