However at any given time having two H1's is much safer as I have seen with many friends how the trouble was avoided and they get time to choose the next employer..
However with H4->EAD the time factor is very critical..if something unwanted happens

so what u r saying is if I am on H1 and my wife is on EAD (which is dependent on my H1) , she would have gained enough credibility with her new employer and the employer can file a H1 for her immediately if a case arises that I am going to be laid off. And in My/Kich case bcos spouse was already counted once in H1 Quota, she does not need to go through lottery again...
So by the time I am notified of my layoff and the layoff actual end date, my wife's employer should file her H1 and file me as her dependant for us to be on status....ok...but even in this case, I cannot work...bcos for me to work, my wife should have 140 approved...(Plus now I am dependant on her employer's mercy whether he will file H1 or not)...
but if both of us have H1's and GC's going on, the fall back option is there for both and its easy to stay back and work incase even if one gets laid off..Also there is no link to the spouses employer here...
Gochi bhai...safer option is two H1's...other option is not too risky either...manchi benefits vunnayi with ability to switch field.

Throwing out one more option.

-Embedded software can range from the Hardcore embedded programming at assembly language level all the way to Linux device drivers for mobile devices.
-System software also falls under it...System C is an example.
This will be like an hybrid of both worlds...needs an understanding of hardware,work will be programming based. MEMS ki matram no relation to this so fresh learning avutundi...
Once again core engineering lo companies might not value the India experience here....so at a minimum Embedded programming certifications avasaram avutayi.... |

I would suggest the same, I dont think she will be able to get into Master's route. Not that she cannot, but time wise she might not be able to spend with unless mana Praveen supports her a lot..
Better get into some quick certification courses, since EAD takes 6-8 months from now including SSN, get some certifications and get into job..

One way to leverage her work ex would be to slightly shift tracks to Networking ( Telecomm or otherwise ) .
CCNA ( Cisco Certified Network Administrator)
CCNP ( Cisco Certified Network Professional)
Ilanti certifications chesukunte she can easily get into Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Aruba...so on and so forth....

Pravin ji can guide you perfectly since my master is in the same area.
1. Electronics field lo 4 major areas andi
-VLSI ( Very large scale circuit design...Consumer electronics like TV's etc getting smaller and smaller)
-Processor design( Mobile and X86) -Companies like Intel are making traditional processors, Companies like Qualcomm are making Mobile Snapdragon processors....
-RF and Communications- Pure antenna theory, RF circuits, Cell phone design etc....
-Analog design( All electronics have to interface with the real world...starting from A/D converters all the way to I/O Devices) .
MEMS ane field last 20 yrs nunchi vundi but it has now picked up quite a bit. Example ivvali ante Iphone lo Gyroscope ane chip vuntundi...it can measure the position and tilt of the device. Okappudu Airplanes lo analog lo Vibrating gyroscope vaade vallu...MEMS punyama ani it came into Mobiles 15 yrs ago and ever since then has had a steady growth
Alage MEMS has good future in Biomedical devices like pacemakers, ECG machines etc...
Electronics or Electrical engineering lone job ikkada kavali ante Masters is an absolute requirement andi...it is not like Software engineering where one can pick up OOPS concepts or ERP/CRM software and then quickly learn on the job
My clear plan of action would be this.
1.Get the H4 EAD or pick the masters route.
2.Meeru vundedi Okhlahoma ani telusu,have friends who graduated from OSU and also University of Oklhamoa after pursuing Telecomm masters from there...
3.Electronics vallu Networking loki kuda vellochu like Cisco , Juniper etc....Slightly easier route.
If she is not interested in investing the time in masters or is particular about working in Electronics or Networking, happy ga konni certifications raasukoni software engineering try cheyyandi.

I have a different take mama....If spouse is getting EAD either Husband has I-140 or 6plus yrs on H1. I-140 is for life and you will always receive extensions unless there was fraud in the original application, so risk is already very minimal.
Meeru spouse ki EAD teesukunte.
1.No dependency on consultant or any other middle vendor. Manchi rate negotiate chesukoni without strings pani chesukovacchu...
2.Spouse now has the chance to target other fields...not tied down to IT.....
3.Chance for more financial success.....
It is a big gain for a very small risk....Underlying H1 ke problem vacche anta cinema vacchindi ante...GC ki kuda problem vastundi atleast for the affected spouse..Anta pedda problem vaste the affected spouse would have to anyhow leave....COS also might get denied.
