Gochi:.sometimes setting up a higher target helps the kid as well...kaani balanced gaa daanni maintain cheyyadam important...and again this definition of balance is different for each person.
Targets on a 10 year old kid? and punishing for not reaching it?? I haven't seen till now such a thing, so got surprised.
Gochi:chaduvu lo nenu konchem strict, habits lo my wife...
maa intlo opposite, nenu habits meeda focus chesta, moral meeda stress chesta. Chaduvu eppudu focus petti chadivina vastundi, but once habbits are created, changing them is really hard anedi feeling. And same thing, we dont handle kids at same time, okallu matladite inkollu silent or no interference.

Ikkada idi school lo kaadu, he is in charter schools ( free schools with different curriculum admission is based on lottery) lo after school they can enroll to many programs run by volunteers some times be teachers. These are like math olympiad, science olmypiad, math bee, spelling bee and so on.. Veetillo tests undi top 5/8/10 kids go to next level depending upon the subject. I guess in one of them the top 5 would go to city level. He was just one short.
Daniki he is now banned from playing outside in the evenings. asalu summer ippude start avutondi, kids want to play in the evening. Vaadu he always says he want to go to public school, he will not have pressure there,and says he doesn't want to go to charter schools.

First and foremost, staying away from bad influences...usualgaa ikkada middle school/high school ki vachesariki start avuthaayi kastaalu...Bullying, drinking,drugs,getting pregnant, addicted to video games, not talking to anyone ado lokam lo unna type..highschool ayyaaka inka nenu dobbalenu,dropout avuthaa ante manam peekedemi ledhu...so always make sure kid is in good friends circle and reinforce the importance of studies and good habits...
Marks konchem itu atu thaggina i don't care...consistent gaa 90% vachedhi okka saari 80's ki vasthe not to worry, but suddengaa 60's ki drop aipoyi alaane continue ayyindhi ante there is a problem that needs to be identified and fixed..
Like everybody else, I too want my kid to get into IVY league schools, we will work towards it but once we realize its getting overboard for the kid, we are ready to drop our expectations...Average gaa chadivesi bachelors finish chesi,if possble masters kooda chesi job lo settle aithe chaalu... |

Just wanted to add to this one. Maa Uncle vallu first lo Desi community lo vundevallu, tarvatha moved to an old community where you find mostly white people. only like 5-6 Desi around some 50-60 Houses. Maa peddodu did really well, His friends and his habits made him think in a different way. Now he is in an A really good school. Maa vaditho paatu maa uncle friends circle batch chala mandi with in desi circles valla kids Kooda manchi univ ki velli akkada thattukoleka malla state university ki vachesaru. I have seen Indian kids who haveare studying in Princeton and went to depression beacause the Pressure cooker system until your at home worked, once you took off to IVY league thattukolekapoyaru. Maa peddodu is now trying to get an intern in NYC, he may or maynot succed but the effort is much appriciable. This may not be the same with all kani just saying |
