another thing i do (could not do since couple years due to time) is have the kids perform on stage and once we got almost an hour slot and did all dasavatarams with live music and small padyalu written by my friend. similarly did many social and pouranika plays (bhakta prahlada, lavakusa etc.,)..
these will create interest among kids and parents get involved too..
this year i should start doing it again..

manabadi folks asked me to teach but as you said it's long commitment and I cannot do. So I go with my own pace and way to teach and so far kids liking it.

islowly he started telugu with them. its helping his development - he switches to telugu when talking to them. so he understands who speaks what.

don't force and pyar se deal karo.
infact i found it very easy to teach telugu to kids who are above 8/9 year old as they understand and grasp quickly. one of my students she picked up writing/reading in less than 5 months and now she wants to continue the class without fail.
all you need is will, passion and patience. Involve any other kids and lure them for gathering/party after the class/teaching.

Maa peddodiki 80% ardham avuthundi and chinnodiki 90% ardham avuthundi telugu. Memu intlo telugu lo mataladatham but they respond in English. There is nothing much we can do, India lo parents tho matladeppudu both of them try in telugu but they are not fluent.

be strict and make sure you spend at least 10/15 mins with Kid(s) in the night before bed and start telling them moral stories/ramayana/bharatam in telugu.
then every week make sure to sit with Kid(s) one hour or more teaching telugu..

luckily this is not a problem for me so far. older one is so fluent and there is no acccent at all. she can write and read as well.
younger one can read, write but not very fluent. i have to insist many times but good so far.
wish the same for everyone who wants their kids to be fluent in telugu

i have the same problem
But Chala families chusaka only my cousin did produce results
Intlo only Telugu and she responds only if the kid asks/speaks in Telugu
Now the kid speaks excellent Telugu
But I had pragmatic issues when kid was small Punjabi Nani speaking Hindi we speaking Telugu and school English and she was not following instructions in English so switched total English
Cousin scolds that kids brain is like sponge and they can speak up to 6 languages and we should put effort
