"I had got an offer from two South Indian films, but I rejected it because the producer of the film asked me to put on weight," says Bigg Boss 11's contestant Hina Khan. Hina Khan's statement on South Indian films clearly didn't go well with actress Hansika Motwani, who's from the south industry and has worked in a couple of Tamil and Telugu films. In a series of tweets, Hansika lashed out at Hina for her comments degrading the South Indian film industry and calling South Indian actresses 'bulging.' One of Hansika's tweets read: "What is this supposed to even mean? How can she even degrade south industry like this? Doesn't she know a lot of Bollywood actors have worked and are working in the south industry! Shame on you Hina Khan for trying to demean us. " In the video posted by Hansika, which is from the ongoing TV reality show Bigg Boss 11, Hina can be heard saying: "I know that they (South Indian producers) want their heroines to gain weight and flaunt their bulging figures. I was in fact offered two films by two very big production houses which I refused since they asked me to gain weight as well." Hansika's another tweets read that Hina was saying pure bullshit. Hansika Motwani, who is proud to be from the South industry also wrote: "As an actress from the south industry, I would like to say I'm very proud be from our South industry." South Indian actress Nakhat Khan, known by her stage name Khushbu Sundar also felt disappointed and wrote: "They need lessons from south on how to be dignified.. That's why they remain where they are and our girls zoom past them." |
