thats greatness of those artists, they did couple of decades ago, these days its more fusion with western loosing melody,those days they did without loosing melody..

Completely veena Massesh, adi oka extension of a sound of string.
Veena kastham gaane untaayi strings for easy playing they use string caps called finger picks (http://larkinam.com/litmimages/mizb-d.jpg_ on the fingers, that way they don't stress their fingers and can play longer..

Veena is westernized and sounds differently, This is the fusion at the peak I guess. Generally Veena is made for happy mood, and it sounds fantastic in that mood, here it is mixed some how differently. There is calmness, anxiety, a little sad, and some ecstasy - music composition is extremely ultra modern, Bringing Veena to that level is great effort, But somehow there are many experiements already done by carnatic greats and after listening to those, this sounds pretty ordinary. If you havent listened to those, this will be extra ordinary...

ee song paadindi Kishore Kumar koduku Amit Kumar, This is his career best song, he is known with this song..
He somehow couldn't shine as much as he could have, but fake KK, the Kumar shanu with help of T-series got into limelight..
