do you know this?
gmail ignores dots / no dots , capitals / no capitals in email addresses as well as @gmail.com being the same domain as @googlemail.com so its a very common error of someone giving out your email address by mistake and thinking it is theirs .
when you receive one of those emails - click show details and you will see xyz @ gmail.com (Yes, this is you.) Learn more
all you can do in a situation like this is reply to the sender to inform them of their error or filter them to trash
you own all variations of youraddress@gmail.com and there are no other Gmail accounts that have your account name with / without the dots or capitals / lowercase in them , and no one else has access to your mail
so :
youraddress@gmail.com = your.address@gmail.com = y.o.u.r.a.dd.r.e.s.s@gmail.com = Y.o.U.r.addreSS@gmail.com=Y.o.U.r.addreSS@googlemail.com
you can email yourself on all of these to test as well as logging in using any of these variations and YOUR password
also as a test or to try unsubscribe from unwanted sites - go to settings > accounts and import > send mail as > add address you own > type that account name with / without the dots - you will be able to add it without a confirmation mail being sent because you own it
and can you try comprehend your problem but 100 times worse if gmail allowed this :
eg firstnamelastname@ would then have derivatives like:
f.irstnamelastname@ fir.stnamelastname@ firs.tnamelastname@ first.namelastname@ firstn.amelastname@ firstna.melastname@ firstnam.elastname@ firstname.lastname@ firstnamelas.tname@ firstnamelastna.me@ firstnamelastnam.e@ fi.rstn.amelastname@ fir.s.tn.am.e.lastname@ f.i.r.s.t.namelastname@ firstn.amel.ast.n.a.m.e@ f.i.rstna.m.elastn.a.m.e@ ETC ETC
