Sasibabu, I started with thinking Hanuman as my Guru, as he is the benchmark for any character of human we take. If we take strength, he is the one, if we take patience, he is the one, if we take intellect he is the ultimate one, For every action of mine, I think of him first and start doing any activity.
Then I used to read Satcharitra a lot, to understand the importance of Guru. Then dattatrey the guru charitra.
I get these three names whenever I try to remember them...
Basically what I achieved is that remember one of them during any thought process of mine and not worry about outcome.
I have seen many times in my life so far, I was helped in many cases got prevented not to go in wrong path or do things in right time guided by external forces that forced me to think and do the right thing.

If I have a Guru, I feel the fear factor in life will go away. We will never be afraid of anything in life. That is the confidence a Guru will give. Once his blessing shower on you, you are rest assured to be take care of every aspect of life.
I don't have that stage attained yet. Over past 5 years, the fear factor has come down, but still don't immediately think of Guru first. thats Why I am still trying to get in relation with Guru. Also I still think of some result to happen in my way, which is not right.

Shiridi Saibaba preaches Sradha and Saburi, devotion and faith. This means, you need to have faith in your Guru, whoever you believe. Once you have faith, your questions will be answered in one way or other, Our mind is always active and we get questions after questions, there is no point in testing guru just for answers. And getting these questions answered is not related to anything. As they keep coming one after other. Is there a problem if they don't get answered.
In Shiridi saibaba satcharitra one incident where he distributes grapes to everyone, one devotee thinks doesnt Saibaba know that I dont eat with seeds, where do I put them now and then when he gets the grapes he finds that only he gets without seeds. So our questions will be like that. If they are really required to be answered for our benifit, they will be answered.
If you have faith, you will not have a doubt whether what you are getting is right or wrong. If there is no faith, then there is no relation between you and Guru..
The difference between Guru and Acharya is that Guru is not bound to any rules and regulations of humans. WHere as Acharya will lead life as humans, they do normal activities that human do, but still they will be Guru's.
So a Guru cannot be classified into anything, atheist, theist, cast, religion and anything. Its nothing but belief, is what even Saibaba says.
In guru charitra, there are 28 gurus of Dattatreya from that we can take a clue..

Guru is a loosely used term and used in every other meaning.
Guru ante taking out darkness in us and provide light ane meaning, Guru is one who provides knowledge, guru is someone from whom we learn, Guru is someone who guides you, Guru is someone who is human but can do miracles and so on so on..
But what I feel is GURU is nothing by a Guri ( nammakam ) that he can take care of you and liberate you, no matter which life, which birth you have.
He is the one who does which is best to us not just the good, he might not do what is happy for us.
Guru is nothing but ultimate supreme self itself., He might take form, might not take form, but he is equivalent to Supreme. The difference is Supreme self is just a witness, but Guru can do everything for all the forms of life in this universe to liberate them. Thats why GURU is given supreme power in the universe.

This year march marks my 25 years in spiritual journey, was quite thinking of the negligible/no progress I made past these years that started with an interaction with a small session with a Sanyasi at a friends house, The age of mine at that time was not good enough to understand what he was talking about and what is spirituality is all about.
However that ignited an interest and enthusiasm in me to know and pursue in that path with given the troubles I had in my life, to find the root cause and solution.
From then onwards, I read, read read and read lots of books and lifes of greats like RK Paramahamsa, Adi sankaracharya, Swamy vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Kanchi Sankaracharya, Dattatreya, and Shirdi Saibaba and met many persons who left normal life, took sanyasi's and tried to guage their reasons of taking that path.
In short after all these years I have realized the importance of a GURU in our lifes and what he can do to our lives. So wanted to share whatever I understood not that I know or am in a position to tell something.
This thread is to revisit myself and share something that can he helpful. If anything wrong ignore..
Instead of FAQ, I wanted to make it as Q&A so that it can be as a discussion..
