PARENTAL AUTHORIZATION FORM DULY SIGNED BY BOTH THE PARENTS
Must be DULY NOTARIZED
Both parents ahve to sign this together and get it notarized.
First part is Fill online and in the check list, get all copies of the documents asks, some of them has to be self attested by applicants, some of them by parents and get it notarized.
Then send them two copies of the same if sending by mail. one copy if submitting in person.
Appudu aa application valid aithe they willget OCI printed from Delhi. Adi vachinataruvata they will ask to send originals and you get them back OCI stamped along with OCI.
Idanta ayyesariki 3 months avutundi.

Rao garu seppinattu, ippudu Fee waive chesaaru kabatti apply cheyyatame best. I have applied for my elder one already. Check list peddaga untadhi gaani, by the time you complete it its not that extensive.

adi chestarani kaadu, konni Indian consulates in some countries post chesina matter adi, andukane cheppa ground reality lo evadi rule alladi..,
Just an example chepta monna oka thread esaa gaa Chicago embassy gurinchi, aadu NJ embassy site lo OCI without stamp on current passport and can travel without old passport ani rasadu, Adi attukelte aadu that is wrong you cannot travel ani malla Indian visa ichi pampaadu.
So we cannot take chance and mess up our travels. Have to be careful when we travel to India antunna..

Okappudu OCI cards ichi teesesaru, stating parents also should be non-Indian citizens.
Modi came and created confusion that two things for the same is not required and said OCI will be given freely and easily. He introduced that even though parents are Indian citizens kids can get OCI.
Then the confusion started with PIO card validity. As we know each embassy behaves that they have their own set of rules, each country interpretted this as differently.
Some said,
1. PIO is still valid, when some one travels to India, they will stamp and that will become OCI
2. PIO is no more valid, after June 16th one has to apply for OCI and then only travel.
3. Some said it is mandatory to convert, some said its optional.
So ilaa evariki tochina interpretation vallu icharu.
What we should do ante, aadu mind chesi malla manaki charges for OCI cheyyakamunde get it for free...

There is too much confusion on what to do
as per http://www.in.ckgs.us/, its not mandatory to convert to oci card antunnadu.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PIO SCHEME:
OCI in lieu of PIO card:
PIO Card scheme has been withdrawn vide Gazette Notification No.25024/9/2014F.I dated 09 January 2015. Applicants may apply for an OCI card ONLY
It is hereby informed that applying for an OCI card in lieu of PIO card is optional till further instruction. However, PIO cardholder is encouraged to apply for OCI card in lieu of PIO card at http://passport.gov.in/oci/capchaActionPIO
PIO cardholder can travel to India on the basis of their valid PIO card and valid foreign passport.
As announced earlier, PIO card have life-long validity. Endorsement stating that existing PIO card is valid for life would be made at the first immigration point with which the PIO cardholder comes into contact, be it the Indian Mission, FRRO or an immigration check-point. These endorsements / stamps would, however, not be mandatory.
Consular fee for this OCI category is Gratis.
Applicants will be required to pay CKGS service fee, Indian Community Welfare Fund Fee (ICWF) and fee for any other optional services availed.
Place of submission for OCI Applications (in lieu of PIO card) should be the same as the Place of Issuance of PIO card.
As soon as additional information is received from Embassy / Consulates, we shall update on our website.
