Au Contraire! Commodity price has negligible impact on this company. In fact low commodity price increases demand for them because pipelines are the most inexpensive and efficient way of transporting crude. As a matter of fact their mainline system is apportioned and it won't go away for a year or longer.

ignore PE number,it's because of a loss (from Mark to market) last quarter. With the asset drop down into their income fund, the focus will be cash from operations available for distributions going forward. Defensive play. Unfortunately you will not find much option activity on this, just straight investment opportunity into 401k type vehicle. I have the biggest exposure to this, probably too much.

Just got this yesterday from one of the analyst companies.

Enbridge - ENB CN
Canada Outperform
2Q15 beat & Positive strategic updates
Event
• Enbridge’s 2Q15 results beat our expectations, with 2Q15 adj. EPS at $0.59, which is higher than our $0.46 estimate and $0.47 consensus. The strong quarter in spite of the commodity environment highlights the low-risk nature of Enbridge’s business, which we expect to generate sector-leading EPS growth out to 2018.
Impact
• Expansion opportunities on the Mainline. Enbridge believes it can add low-cost capacity optimization and expansion projects on the Mainline for an incremental ~600kbpd. These projects would be very cost effective, generate attractive returns and have significantly less regulatory/execution risk as compared to greenfield projects. We believe Enbridge could announce further expansion of its Mainline prior to other competing greenfield projects entering service.
• EEP drop-down strategy revised. Rather than employing a large-scale drop-down strategy similar to ENF (link ), Enbridge announced they plan to adopt a more systematic approach for its US pipeline assets to EEP instead. Management believes the value and effectiveness of a large-scale drop-down strategy is contingent on the equity valuation of the underlying vehicle. With the US MLP market under pressure recently – including EEP, management believes a more prudent approach would be more effective here. Nevertheless, management continues to believe in EEP’s long-term growth outlook and strategy.
• Acquisition strategy to diversify their business mix. Enbridge plans to diversify their business mix by expanding into the natural gas and power generation business, likely through acquisitions; but we do not expect any big-bang acquisitions as evident recently in the US (link ). While they see attractive opportunities in the current markets, they are being prudent by focusing on quality assets that expand their strategic footprint, and transactions must be accretive. Management believes that completing the drop-down to ENF may give them a more powerful currency to move forward with acquisitions.
Earnings and target price revision
• 2015 estimates revised to reflect 2Q15 actual results, and long-term estimates are increased thereby increasing our target price to $71 from $69.
Price catalyst
• 12-month price target: C$71.00 based on a DCF methodology.
• Catalyst: project announcements including strategic updates.
Action and recommendation
• We reiterate our Outperform rating. In our view, Enbridge has the sector-leading growth outlook in the long-term and amidst the uncertainty of the current commodity environment, investors may gravitate towards quality, defensive names such as Enbridge.

I need to work until at least 65, cannot afford to retire earlier than that. means I have 20+ years to go and yes it's possible before then. but it is not easy, from here on the # of positions are very less and competition would be much higher. just successful work alone won't cut; there will be several factors.

I sold FXY puts today, for mere 1% gain. I entered the trade too early and paid way too much. I will again buy these at an appropriate price.

biggest miss is not continuing with XLE puts, one of my colleague rolled them into jan puts from the day we sold, it's a 3 bagger for him now. VXX calls and OIH puts are doing well today. FDX is holding above its resistance level which is good, just we could have paid lot less to those calls.

Hopefully this week will be better than the last.

FDX calls - I am relaxed as long as it keeps the resistance levels.

OIH puts - I think this will give solid return but I could have paid lot less for those puts, entered little early.

XLK - will wait.

FXE - closely watching and enter puts at right time.

PGH (PGF in Canada) - will buy significant #nof shares if it drops below $1.5Cdn; I think energy complex will provide lot of opportunities between Sept and Dec.

Sold XLE and SCCO puts too early, they would have resulted in the biggest $return for me had I held them.
