హైదరాబాద్: లోయర్ ట్యాంక్ బండ్ దగ్గర బుధవారం ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్న రైతు లింబయ్య మృతిపై నిజామాబాద్ జిల్లా కలెక్టర్ రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి నివేదిక సమర్పించారు. లింబయ్య ఎయిడ్స్ బాధితుడుని, జిల్లాలో ఎయిడ్స్ బాధితులకు ఇచ్చే ఫించన్ కూడా పొందుతున్నాడని నివేదికలో పేర్కొన్నారు. లింబయ్యకు ఆరు ఎకరాల పొలం ఉందని, అందులో వ్యవసాయం చేస్తున్నాడని, అలాగే వ్యవసాయ అవసరాల నిమిత్తం మూడు బోర్లు కూడా ఉన్నాయని తన నివేదికలో పేర్కొన్నారు. అయితే లింబయ్యకు ఎయిడ్స్ ఉన్న కారణంగా ఆయన బిడ్డకు పెళ్లి కావడం లేదనే మనస్తాపంతో ఆత్మహత్యకు పాల్పడి ఉండొచ్చని కలెక్టర్ తన నివేదికలో పేర్కొన్నారు. రైతు లింబయ్య అలియాస్ లింబాదరి కుటుంబాన్ని కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ ప్రతినిధులు గురువారం పరామర్శించారు. నిజామాబాద్ జిల్లాలోని సదాశివనగర్ మండలంలో రామారెడ్డి గ్రామాన్ని సందర్శించిన నేతలు లింబాదరి కుటుంబానికి రూ. లక్ష ఆర్థికసాయం అందించారు. నిన్న గాంధీ ఆసుపత్రిలో లింబయ్య కుటుంబ సభ్యులను పరామర్శించిన తెలంగాణ తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీ ఎమ్మెల్యే రేవంత్ రెడ్డి రూ. 50 వేలు ఆర్ధిక సాయంగా ఇచ్చారు. రైతుల ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకోవడం బాధ కలిగిస్తోంది: మాజీ మంత్రి సునీతా లక్ష్మారెడ్డి ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్న రైతు బాధిత కుటుంబాలకు ప్రభుత్వం తరుపున ఆర్ధిక సాయం అందడం లేదని మాజీ మంత్రి, మెదక్ జిల్లా కాంగ్రెస్ కమిటీ అధ్యక్షురాలు సునీతాలక్ష్మారెడ్డి ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. గురువారం ఆమె మీడియాతో మాట్లాడారు. రాష్ట్రంలో రైతుల ఆత్మహత్యలు చూస్తుంటే తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం ఎందుకు తెచ్చామా అనిపిస్తోందన్నారు. రైతుల ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకోవడం బాధ కలిగిస్తోందన్నారు. తెలంగాణ వ్యాప్తంగా 1200 మంది రైతులు ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకోగా, ఒక్క మెదక్ జిల్లాలోనే 180 మంది రైతులు ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్నారన్నారు. ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్న రైతులకు ప్రభుత్వం ఎలాంటి ఆర్ధిక ప్రకటించడం లేదన్నారు. రాష్ట్రానికి విదేశీ పెట్టుబడులు ముఖ్యమే, కానీ రైతులు కష్టాలు తీర్చాల్సిన బాధ్యత సీఎం కేసీఆర్‌ది కాదా? అని ఆమె ప్రశ్నించారు. రాష్ట్రంలోని 263 మండలాల్లో కరువు పరిస్థితులు ఉండగా, మెదక్ జిల్లాలో అన్ని మండలాల్లో కరువు పరిస్థితులున్నాయన్నారు. కాంగ్రెస్ అధికారంలో ఉండగా ఆంధ్రా నాయకుల కొమ్ము కాస్తున్నామని కేసీఆర్ ఆరోపించే వారని ఇప్పుడు ఎవరి కొమ్ము కాస్తున్నారని ప్రశ్నించారు. |

While the Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS) government admits that the crisis is real, they claim that they have inherited the legacy of suicides and they are not completely to blame.
Kiran feels that the government is taking a very bureaucratic approach to the whole issue, which is delaying the declaration of drought.
"When a state government wants to declare drought, it writes to the Centre, who then send a team to assess the ground reality and make the decision," he says.
The declaration of drought will also help the farmers with compensation and implement crop cutting measures to better the crisis.
However, with each passing day, the situation is getting worse and the Centre will not act until the state government calls on it.
"Time is of the essence. The state government must declare drought quickly, or things will only get worse," Kiran adds.
