smoking vipareetam gaa undedi, we tried almost 4 years to make him stop, and gave up. One fine day FB lo status update chesadu, quit smoking and its 30 days ani,, we were shocked.
Alaantidi, malla ippudu jhalak istunnadu,, I will need to identify the root cause, first will talk to friends around him and then finally to him to start finding the solution..

Gochesh naaku kooda ade doubt vachindi, maa friend inkodu kalisi IT consultancy start chesaru, they have around 40 persons working for them. Basically allandaru kurrollu, he leads them and takes them to bar. Each day different persons. if no one joins he goes alone anta. He made good friends of the waiters and when he goes, he doesn't have to order anything.
starting lo occasional drinker, but now a days daily...
One thing for sure, he works very hard in the office. Surely he is stressed out end of the day. He is feeling to get relaxed by that going to bar I guess. Intikelli kids to time spend cheste aa stress releive avutundi, but he never had good relation with kid or wife because of his introvert nature.
other friend to detail gaa matladali on a plan how they at work can help. I suggested two years ago to quit this and work in normal IT companies but he didnt listen, Now he lost confidence that he can work anywhere given his life schedule.

is there a way family can find out if he has any friends he is taking everyday to drink and try to cut that off...also most of these addictions are habitual and related to place/time...for example, aa time ki aa road cross avvagaane dhammu eyyali anipisthundi...or konchem work ekkuva ayyi stress feel avvagaane oka dhammu eyyali anipisthundi..so its not that your body is forcing you, its more of mind due to a particular habit is formed..automaticga chesesthaaru entha cheyyakoodadhu anukunnaa...in such cases, change of place(Location) might work..you can check with them if they can move to some other town.. |

He is in IT NSK saru, his daily routing has become like 9 to 7 work, then 7-11 spend in a bar. drink till full and then go home and sleep. Doing nothing more than this. He had been in this routine since an year itseems.
Now when his family is trying to stop this, he is kind of shutting down the communication channel, if they still try, he gets agitated and either shouts or makes fuss about it.
He had smoking habit too which he quit 3 years ago, but not sure why he is not able to get over this.

konta mandi friends to matladi edo okati set cheyyali either counseling or rehab.. Wife has gone to an extent of thinking to get separated being helpless to resolve issue and doesn't want kids to get impacted.

addiction lo next steps...he will soon run out of money and will start selling his wife's gold, then take loans from everyone, next will lose his house, finally he will run out of all sources and will resort to some robbery/criminal activities....konchem maanam abhimaanam unnadaithe at this point they will attempt suicide...this is the typical cycle of any addiction..be it gambling/drinking/women etc... |

cigarette addiction nundi bayatiki raataanike naaku chaala time pattindi...after smoking for about 15 years and after so many unsuccessful attempts, finally I think I did it...now its more than a year I did not touch a cigarette, inkoka 10 yrs ilaane saagithe I can confirm...bcos still I get tempted towards it atleast once a week, but I am able to control...
its all psychological and self determination is what he needs..aa determination raavataaniki something strong should happen in his life so he can connect emotionally....and whenever he gets the feeling to drink, this emotion will override that feeling...did his family try taking strong steps against him? like stop talking to him, leaving him or separating from him, or ask his kids to talk rudely to his father/request him to stop etc? |
