Vastu comes from same astrology concepts.
Like natural zodiac, Vastu starts with Mesha ( Aries ) so aa lekkana teeskunte & also on the Direction lordships, South is Sani+Yama directions. Anduke South facing is wrong ani general impression. But if we really want to evaluate, it depends on the house owner, ie in ur case its you, if your horoscope is ok with Saturn impacts south facing could work out well for you.
The generic KalaPurusha principles are applied for only cases where we dont know specifics of horoscopes. For ex - ye gothram teliyakapote, default Kasyapasa gothram annatu ( Sun's lineage ) |

Kubangesh, Vaastu just doesn't depend upon which side its facing. South facing or North facing wrong anedi pure misconception.
Vastu supports all facing houses equally. But the conditions to support these north/south houses as per vastu are little different.
Not sure where this disconnect of east/west is best, north/south is bad got into minds of people.
Basically vastu is defined based on how should the energies flow in the house and how they effect the persons living in the house. How the five elements like earth, fire, wind, air, space influence the bread maker of the house. However when everyone is earning these days, when these elements have positive influences, things will work out better.
However in cold countries vs hot tropical countries things work differently based on climatic conditions. In modern days the five elements work differently, so the concepts will be different compared to olden days.
Comfort is more important than vastu, but basic things if in place, obviously everything will be fine.
Caveat entante, Bill gates mansion is south facing..
