They have last year #3 pick Jaylen Brown, this year #3 pick Jason Tatum, Lakers pick for 2018, 2019 Memphis pick, 2019 Clippers pick, Marcus Smart and all of their picks. So, I think they have another shot at a star...but their clock has started with max contracts to Al Horford and Gordon Hayward. Marcus Smart is a restricted free agent next year...and he may start next to Kyrie now.
Last year starting line up: Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Jae Crawder, Al Horford and Kelly Olynyk...Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown played starter like minutes...now they replaced 4 of them with Kyrie, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Morris and Jason Tatum. |

First reaction naadhi adhe..but in PG and Jimmy trades...2017 No 1 pick was on the table and Ainge did not want to deal it...ippudu 2017 is done and 2018 Brooklyn pick is a big unknown...may be it will be top-3 if they win the lottery or as low as 5-8. |

Don't like Danny Ainge but he is very good at trades and wins most of them....some time the cut throat reputation hurts you...thats why he was not able to make trades for Jimmy Butler or Paul George...he had lots of assets and other teams were demanding them and not accepting deals that were slight better than a competitors offers.
He had to finally consolidate the assets...and this was what he chose...he got the best player in the deal but may have lost the trade. This is not a terrible deal but Ainge gave up a lot. Celtics have more upside with Kyrie but lots of downside. If this team does not go anywhere, the ceiling becomes conference finals....Jaylen Brown or Jason Tatum need to become a franchise superstar for Celtics to win championships. |

The Cavaliers just pulled off the impossible. They had tried to move Kyrie Irving for more than a month, but had been unable to find a viable trade partner for their unhappy point guard because they wanted to accomplish two contradictory goals. On one hand, they needed elite talent in return for Kyrie to have any chance of convincing LeBron James to stay past this season. On the other, they had to protect themselves if LeBron left by getting young pieces they could rebuild around. Trading an All-Star and getting better in the short and long term isn’t easy. Just look at how little the Pacers received for Paul George. And then Tuesday happened. The Cavs got everything they wanted from the Celtics: an All-Star (Isaiah Thomas), a defensive-minded rotation player (Jae Crowder), and two intriguing future pieces in Ante Zizic and the Nets’ unprotected first-rounder in 2018. They might have made this trade even if Kyrie didn’t want out.
Cleveland can plug Thomas into Irving’s role without missing a beat. He was a better version of Kyrie last year, at least in the regular season. They are both ball-dominant point guards who can score at will but struggle on defense. The difference is Thomas scored more often and more efficiently, despite playing with significantly worse teammates |

kikiki worst na matta deal.. potti IT ni lebby brongu bhi dekadd... is a big loss for IT... i dont think lebby will trust him in final minutes.. anyways... lebby will save his body for next year. But IT will loose stats and money on max deal.

Super deal...great debut by new GM....he should continue to keep shopping Isaiah Thomas for another asset + decent point guard...has only 1 year left and you don't want to be the team paying his next contract...he is cringing for a max contract..as he has been playing of a 6M contract for 4 years. Jae Crawder is a wonderful player and asset...Zicic is a good prospect who is just starting his rookie season.
IT will play hard as he wants to get max next year.
Crowder is very good on defence which cavs are worst in last season..

In all ways, this is very good trade by cavs.
