Agreed.My job is not very skill oriented, so a bit of boring.So, looking whatever comes. Mostly focusing on Admin jobs..

Thedarkknight:Do u have lots of manual tasks on a daily basis?
Everything is scheduled by using autosys. Soemthing or other got on outage during weekends (eiter teradata, SAS or somethign else). Also the upstream data may be delayed some times and the reports give false exceptions.So, need to see where the error lies and need to rerun them (or open tickets to the mainframe team )by properly connecting the correct files.

You may need advanced concepts in shell scipting and also some extra concepts to process data and mail reception. The course that you were looking at below would only give minimal required knowledge to carry out the tasks manually on a daily basis and you may not like it.

Summary:There are about 600 reports running in the production(teradata), so need to monitor them.Reconciliation of the reports scheduled vs reached their destinations(web applications, mailboxes etc), need to see why something failed , how to fix it to make sure users will not eb affected(since these are all the compliace deaprtments)

Why are you planning to shift towards Linux admin?
Linux admin job may be frustrating considering that there are so many versions of Linux OSes present ( due to non-streamlined open source community ) and you may observe basic stuff breaking.
