hope you are wrong. I am just following the service recommendation. the reason I picked $35 was just in case if $36 is not filled below recommended price. often when service recommends, the move for that specific SP would be much higher than other SPs, thought will take a chance with it. first $35 calls filled and then later $36 filled. I have no choice but holding on Vs and see what happens  Just couple of days like today, probably i will be out for a decent gain

As I said, as a potential take-over target, Supervalu’s stock may be worth more “dead” than “alive.”
If a prominent grocery chain, like Kroger, was willing to acquire Supervalu for a 25% premium to today’s stock price – roughly the premium that Amazon paid for Whole Foods’ stock – shares of Supervalu could go for more than $22.50.
If an acquirer was willing to pay 2-times book value – still a steal, I think – shares of Supervalu could go for almost $27.
And at Whole Foods’ four-times-book valuation, shares of Supervalu could be worth as much as $50!
Of course, there’s no way to know if a deal like this will go through any time in the near future. But with Blackwells already turning up the heat on Supervalu’s board, heading into the company’s summer shareholder meeting, now’s a good time to take a shot at an M&A-driven “windfall” profit.
Even if no one steps in to acquire Supervalu at an attractive multiple, the stock still stands to make good gains as investors’ sentiment improves.

mentioned to keep TBT puts, no sell recommendation yet

there will be lot of growth in EV market once there is a step change in battery pricing and range. prices dropped 75% in the last 3 years and range improved quite a bit. overall cost has to come in the range of an average corolla/civic for people to buy. for North American markets, trucks and SUVs are key. there is no IP in this technology and anyone can produce once they figure out the cost. look what happened to solar panel manufacturers in the last 10 years, 90% of them went bankrupt. only strong ones with agility will survive in the long run. Do you really think BMW/Toyota like companies will leave this opportunity and simply relinquish their market share. just wait and watch, it will be interesting.

it’s BS argument. No grid is totally reliable with renewables, believe me I am quite familiar with the segment. Even CA won’t be there any time soon. I lead $3B worth renewable development and currently involved in offshore wind development. At present not even 10% of the total generation comes from renewables at global level. It’s long ways to get there. Unless there is a step change in battery technology it’s impossible to have a stable grid without fossil fuels, period.

I think it’s time for you to check the subsidies given by different states/provinces to buy the EVs in North America. It varies anywhere from 5k to 14k. Last I checked no govt offers subsidies for ICE cars. On top of that every jurisdiction taxes the hell out on gasoline.

Amazing progress is being made in the auto sector, I am not even sure if the lithium ion will win it ultimately. Assuming that technology wins, I highly doubt musk wins it in the end.

The utilities sector isn’t always the obvious choice as an equity-market hedge. It’s known as a “defensive” sector, since its revenues aren’t as sensitive to changes in the economy.
But right now… my Cycle 9 algorithm is telling me that the SPDR Utilities Sector ETF (NYSE: XLU) is the best way to hedge against falling stock prices.
I think a lot of that has to do with the utilities sector’s sensitivity to interest rates.
As a notoriously capital-intensive business, utilities companies typically carry a lot of debt. That debt becomes more expensive as interest rates rise. And this eats into profits – either in reality or, at least, into investors’ expectations.
So naturally, the utilities sector has been out of favor for some time now, as rates on 10-year Treasurys have marched all the way from 1.4% to 3%.
Get this…
Since July of 2016, when rates bottomed, the utilities sector (XLU) is down 1.7% – while the average return of the remaining eight sectors is a solid 24%!
And while five of the nine sectors we track have recently slid into downtrend status, the utilities sector was the first to go, back in December, and has spent every day in 2018 in this downtrend status – making it a potential “short,” according to the rules of our system.
More recently, the utilities sector has notched higher prices – climbing from $48 to $54 since the mid-February bottom. This gives us a favorable entry point for a short position.
The general character of the recent rally has been choppy and timid. And it was likely helped by a short-term easing of interest rates, which pulled back to a low of 2.7% as April began.
All told, if the broad stock market remains weak it will roll over and re-test this year’s lows – and the utilities sector will go down with it.
It’s time to add a hedge…
Action to Take: Buy to open September 21, 2018, $51-strike put options on the SPDR Utilities Sector ETF (NYSE: XLU) at the market.
The current ask price (where you can buy at the market) is sitting around $1.64. I recommend buying this contract up to a maximum price of $1.90.
Note: It’s been a while since we’ve bought a put option, rather than a call option.
