Nayak:and then put it in Bed soil.
Thats also a good idea. Once the garden season is over, you can add your kitchen waste in the raised bed and cover with soil. It will decompose eventually.. |

now I am doing small scale type...we collect veg/fruits waste, egg shells into counter Bin and then put it in Bed soil. May be next year I need to collect all leaves instead of trashing it away. Warrior

I did the same mistake when I was PA. You need to use more brown(Dry leaves) and less green(kitchen waste). If you do the other way, you will end up with too many bugs and flies with no compost.. |

Speaker:i have four such barrels to collect rain water seeping from gutters for use during spring n summer.. actually could double them...as they r always over-flowinggg... i got those barrels freeeee from a construction site...
Store bought barrels, normally, have the capacity of 50 to 70 gallons range. I got the similar ones too. My township sold them for $50/- each (with 64 gallon capacity). But, buying food grade plastic barrels is a trend now. They cost $100/- each including shipping and the guy will come and install it for you(includes shipping and isntalltion.)Each barrel has the capacity of 128 gallons and you can connect them togher .So, if you have 4 of them (connecting to two gutter collection points), you will have plenty of rain water to use for garden. |

My township sells those bins for $60/- each. I got 2 of them and both are 3 years old. You can google it for the full process of composting. Its not very complicated. It takes time to start getting the compost .But, once it starts, you will get every year(as you are keep on adding the materiel to the bin). |

Nayak:what is the process?
You need to buy the compost bin from any hardware store (Home depot/Lowes etc) and install it. Just nailed down to the ground. dump fall leaves and kitchen waste in that. It takes 4- 5 months to become like black soil. |
