Tesla (TSLA): Elon Musk disclosed another $1B stock sales last night, bringing the total to nearly $11B over the last month. Have to give him a ton of credit not only for building this incredible company but also for riding his equity this far (adding on the way up) and selling with some seemingly impeccable timing. |

The stock market has gone back on the defensive in what has been a topsy-turvy week of trading action. The negative disposition can be pinned on the following influences:
1. An abiding sense that today's mixed employment report, which featured weak nonfarm payrolls growth (210,000) and a sharply lower unemployment rate (4.2%), isn't going to change a growing consensus among Fed members that a faster tapering pace is needed. The employment increase, as computed from the household survey (+1.136 million), was just too strong to dismiss.
St. Louis Fed President Bullard (2022 FOMC voter) said he sees economic measures that argue for removing accommodation at a faster pace.
2. The WHO's contention that Omicron has now emerged in 38 countries with early data pointing to a strong transmissibility factor (though it is still too early to tell if it leads to more severe disease).
3. The huge loss in DocuSign (DOCU 141.49, -92.33, -39.5%) after its disappointing guidance, which is undercutting other growth stocks sporting high multiples as investors fret about the potential fallout in the event they, too, were to disappoint.
4. Disappointment that there hasn't been follow through on yesterday's rally effort, leading some to think it was a head fake (or, as it is said in the market, a "dead cat bounce").
The S&P 500 quickly getting knocked back below its 50-day moving average (4544). |

World markets rattled by Moderna CEO's warning of efficacy against Omicron variant
1. The global equity markets are under heavy pressure to start the day. S&P Futures are down about 48 points to trade around the 4602 area. Markets fell out of bed following a story that surfaced that Moderna's CEO suggested its vaccine would not be as effective against the Omicron variant relative to the Delta variant. Spoos took a dive before putting in the low print of 4582.00. The high was set early in the session at 4667.50.
2. In Asia, China closed flat while Japan lost another 1.6%. The Shanghai staved off selling following a better than expected Manufacturing PMI. The November print rose to 50.1, up from last month's reading of 49.2 and topping the forecast of 49.6. In Japan, the negative sentiment stirred by the commentary from Moderna CEO weighed on the Nikkei. The yen is up 0.8% against the greenback in safe-haven flows.
3. In Europe, the major bourses are echoing the tone seen in Japan and the US. Although most sectors are deep in the red, automotive stocks are among the worst hit. Car makers such as Stellantis, Renault, Volkswagen and Daimler are down 2-4%. |

I'm the wrong person to ask on these services, I don't have a high opinion on these delivery services. They are primarily an uber which delivers to you. And uber/lyft stock retrogressed quite a bit in the last year even with the pump
one thing they have going for them is doordash is the leader in their segment by a long shot. So, if other services fail, Door dash will raise bit by bit. I don't expect them to go like 70% up (for 270$ range) at all, but more like 150-200 |

World markets attempting to bounce back
1. The global equity markets are mixed but the US and Europe are witnessing hefty bounces. S&P Futures are up about 39 points to trade around the 4636 area. Spoos caught a quick bid right out of the gate with the first print of the open representing the low at 4588.75. The market has been steady throughout the session trading near the upper end of the range that saw a high of 4642.75.
2. In Asia, China closed flat while Japan lost 1.6%. The Shanghai was off to a rough start, trading down about 1% on the open. After that, the market managed to claw its way back to the neutral zone. In Japan, most stocks closed in the red. Automotive names felt a pinch with Mitsubishi Motors, Mazda and Nissan falling over 4%. Shipping stocks bucked the overall tone with names such as Nippon Yusen K.K. and Mitusi O.S.K. Lines gaining 2-3%.
3. In Europe, the major bourses are trying to rebound. In fact, most sectors are trading in the green. Retail stocks are seeing the most strength with names such as Puma, Adidas, Hermes and Kering up 3-4%. Banks are also outpacing the broader market with lenders such as Societe Generale and Credit Agricole up over 2%. |
