Musicfan:Ilayaraja compositions lo telugu lo manaki unnavi probably 1/4. There are many more wonders in Tamil. Unfortunately some though they were dubbed didnt get noticed.
Fortunately for me, I have listened to more songs of Ilayaraja in Tamil than in Telugu..
In fact may be it was his mother tongue he always gave them the best.. infact with Vairamuthu he gave some of his best songs... 
I am not sure, How may of you guys can understand Tamil but here re some of my favorites in Tamil as well..
Try listening to those.. I will list out the movies

6. Panneer Pushpangal (I think this was dubbed in Telugu)

11. Payanangal Mudivathillai (One of My fav albums)
12. Pallavi Anupallavi (Kannada but some beautiful songs)
13. Mouna Ragam (I just love the BGM in Karthik (known as Murali in Telugu).
14. Pagal Nilavu

total 950 movies = 4800-5000 approximate songs.
out of that I can easily keep listening to atleast 1500 songs repeatedly. Taking out some routing duets.
I dont think any MD in India has achieved this feat of giving so much excellent variety, consistency and mind blowing compositions till date.

I was just listening to Ilayaraja's songs in my ar yesterday while on a long drive with my brother..
Realised that how much ever you do you fall short of describing his talent!!!!
unfortunately he has composed way too many great songs that very few of us out here would have listened to each one of those..
Hence trying to make a list of great songs
