coming to the first in their combo palleTUri pilla, anr's role was that of a good samaritan, where as ntr's role was that of a guy who robs villages who later reforms. ntr's role had the mass elements where he fights with the bull. anr's role is that of a guy who sacrifices his love when he comes to know that the heroine loves ntr and later sacrifices his life while rescuing ntr's and anjali's son from the goons.. this laid a pavement for their career paths where ntr became famous for his mass roles and anr for class/tragic roles.. who dominated whom? nobody. they did their parts well per the story which had the title on the heroine... anr and anjali who already had a few hits by then should be applauded for acting with a new comer and ntr should be applauded for not letting down the confidence of the producer/director b.a. subbArao had in him and did full justice to the first full fledged role he was offered... b.a. subbArao should be applauded for finding and launching a new hero to TFI who in the later days became the chief minister of Andhra pradEsh...

The legendary golden combo of annagAru and naTasamrAT gAru delivered 14 movies. No other 2 top heroes have acted together in these many movies... except the last 3 that came in the color era, rest all didn't have titles on both... they tocuhed all genres... mythological (mAyAbajAr, SrIkRshNArjuna yuddam, bhUkailAs), historical (tenAli rAmakRshNa, chANakya chandragupta), folklore (rEchukka), and social (samsAram, parivartana, charaNadAsi, palleTUripilla, missamma, gunDamma katha, rAmakRshNulu, satyam Sivam).. it's not wise to discuss who dominated whom. if this question has araised we wouldn't have seen 14 movies in their combo.. more later

Maaya Bazaar lo role wise gaa Abhi manyudi dhi pedda role. Andukani Krishnu di ki importance ledhu ante elaa. ANR dominated NTR antey navvuthaaru. They both played their roles.
Same case with Tenali Ramakrishna. Title role chuttu katha tiruguthundhi.
Ayinaa kadha chuttu roles undaali kaani, hero domination tho golden era lo telugu movies raaledhu. Anni roles ki importance undedhi - including those of comedians.
