Yes andi. They do have the Co-Op, but not as good as that in Waterloo.
Summer jobs are good option too.

Business ante, aa speciality unna college ki vellatam a lot better than overall better ranked school.
Ikkada very low ranked schools but top business programs unna schools unnayi, kids prefer those schools are lot.

one of my colleague's son is going to Kings College, London. He got U of T, Kings college and few others but didn't get into LSE. He is leaning towards Kings college in Environment+business program. There its a three year undergrad program but overall costs something like $350k. he is the only kid and both parents are loaded, so no worries. |

ee gnanodayam naaku maa vodi school finalize chesetappudu kaligindi..
IVY league schools gurinchi think cheyyakkarledu, you get it you go there.
Next teeskone major lo top unna schools also no need to think.
Rest all doesnt matter for under-grad ani experience vachindi..
If money also plays role like for us, it is the critical factor when you get scholarship vs no scholarship..

I really don't care about rankings personally. Majority of the Universities are great in Canada. My friends kids went to various Us over the years and most of them settled well. |

Math Department (which offers Computer Science) at Waterloo is world # 1.
Best thing about Waterloo is their Co-Op program. The kids get to work 16 to 20 months before they graduate. Many go to Silicon Valley for doing their Co-Op (Internship).
Computer Science at UofT is supposed to be one of the best programs in the world.

He is leaning towards the same andi ... But he has to work hard to keep his admission to Ivey. Ee year competition chala ekkuva undhi for all good universities ... mid 90s are also getting rejected or getting deferrals.

Western is a good university with Ivy League business program. I know at least 3 kids who did their undergrad at this university and one in engineering and business combined program (5 years). One doctor too. All are doing great and don’t think too much. Geomatics lo undergrad chesi emi cheddamani? Send him to western, London is a nice place to live too. Not too big and not too small, perfect. |

Most of the time, as long as you graduate a STEM and even better CS course, you're golden, as long as it's atleast a Mid grade school
I heard waterloo in canada is a good one, comparable to top schools in US |

nenu oka thread esaa last month adi chadavandi regarding ranking of the universities for Undergrad..
If money is not an issue, let him go to the major of his interest.
College ranking will only help in getting first job, but end of the day it all depends upon the kid,,

Maa vadu struggling a bit to make up his mind.
UofT - have an offer; but a difficult path to do major in the area of his choice
Waterloo - have an offer in Geomatics (applied for Computer Science but got deferral)
Western - have an offer in the area of his interest; with an option to do business program in Ivey (he is very interested in business program)
He is at cross roads - should he take the programs at prestigious universities or take the offer at Western
Does University ranking matter that much in North America?
Money is the least of concerns (not much difference in student fees / scholarships).
