All said and done - very good playing by Australia - every time they are in pressure - one of the bowlers brought them back to the game- finals lo Faulkner getting out taylor and Anderson was as important as Mccullum's wicket.

NEW DELHI: The fight within the International Cricket Council (ICC) escalated on Monday as its president Mustafa Kamal accused chairman N Srinivasan of snatching his right to hand over the trophy to world champions Australia.
Australia crushed New Zealand in the final on Sunday to win the Cricket World Cup title.
During the presentation ceremony it was N Srinivasan who handed over the World Cup trophy to the champion team's skipper Michael Clarke with tournament brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar, ICC CEO Dave Richardson and Cricket Australia supremo Wally Edwards sharing the dais with the Tamil Nadu strongman.
According to the constitution of the ICC, the president has to give away the trophy.
"I will discuss the entire issue with my legal team and seek their opinion and then decide on the future course of action," Kamal said.
According to reliable sources in the ICC, it was learnt that at an ICC meeting, Kamal was categorically told that he would not be allowed to hand over the trophy.
Sources said that Srinivasan was extremely angry after Kamal voiced his concerns about "umpiring bias" during the India-Bangladesh quarterfinal, which led to Rohit Sharma being given not-out to a Bangladeshi bowler Rubel Hossain's delivery, a decision that could have one either way.
Kamal, who is the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president had accused India of flexing its muscles, which led to the umpiring bias. |
