You can update with new info at Citi.

But now most of the banks share info with US govt.

Citi or any other bank will report your earnings in India and saving in India will be reported to Govt of US.

I had an NRI account with CITI for more than 10 years.I became USA citizen almost 3 years ago.Now, they sent a letter asking that I need to confirm my passport number(they got very old passport number I gave them when i opened the account) or I need to send a copy of recent passport.

Do I need to close this account ? did anybody got any experience with this this kind of situation?
