aithe lite theeskuni regular school lo continue aipondi Kali bro...1 hr commute adding everyday ante not a joke...for the exact same reason now we are thinking of moving our kid out of chartered school to the Public school which is 5 mins from my home...current chartered school is like 13 miles away but it takes solid 40 mins in peak traffic....daily 1.20 mins commute lo bokka both for kid and us...they get more tired...instead you can use this time effectively for some other activity... |

maa second kid is going into 8th grade. summer lo after camps, nenu simple rule pettanu about his video and online games. you can play how many hours you want but you have to match it with same number of hours of work either math or sceince. ee roju evening pattukupoyi Taekwondo lo join cheyisthanna. he goes to swimming regularly and winter lo every week-end snow boarding.

school rating is based on MAP and MEAP scores that kids get in each grade. This has nothing to do with what I said. If school gets 10, that means it has India, chinese kids more than others.
One school which was 10/10 next year went to 7 and the next 4, nothing changed in the school except migration of few people from downtown. you know who..

anthaga challenge cheyalante there are umpteen avenues like Khan Academy, IXL etc. vaatillo rojuko ganta work cheyinchandi. put her in sports and swimming (probably you are already doing it). those things build more confidence in kids which is very important in my view.

Key differences:
charter schools are moral focus oriented and target oriented. where as public schools are not as much as charter schools.
Charter schools are based on lottery admission, public schools are for every one.
Curriculum is based on the skills/talent level kid is based on tests, in charter schools where as its flat curriculum for every one in public schools
Charter schools always target higher goals on curriculum, where as public schools are not.
Homework is more atleast 2-3 hrs as you go higher grades it will be 3-4 hours per day. However in public schools it will be 1-2 pages per day, which mostly they will do in school.
Recess periods in charter schools are less, where as public schools are more.
Inka after school activities are parent oriented which are same either places.

Chartered school admits students based on a criteria and they can reject studentes who dont meet the criteria -- unlike regular schools -- so good students untaaru
also they are more inclined on academics - just like our indian schools type

Just now, I got e-mail saying that my little one got admission in to Cardinal charted academy,Cary,NC.She is in 4th grade and going to state public school now.Anybody got any experience with charted schools? I have few question to ask. |
