yes, they take 3 days to settle the trade for stock and one day for an option. Normally what I do is keep enough cash in the account to trade other opportunities. on top of that my account has margin facility which means you can use up to 70% of the portfolio value (as a collateral) if you really want to buy something urgently. you will pay interest for those 3 days in margin account. I have that facility but never used it because they charge higher interest rates. If I need something urgent, I use line of credit which has much lower interest rate and the accounts are linked so that I can transfer instantaneously.

actually if you look into it going back to maximum chart, it didn't do much between 1995 to 2009.Last 4 to 5 years bull run happened only with the bubble in their media networks (i.e., mostly ESPN) segment.
Concerns:
45% of revenue and 64% EBIT comes from media networks segment, any weakness in this would be hugely negative.
They have total $28B goodwill on the balance sheet, little over $17B just in the media networks segment. Is it normal to have such a huge goodwill for a media company?
I think the theme parks and movies will continue to do well to okay. however, I don't have enough knowledge about the prospects of ESPN and valuation looks very high. for that reason I am at least dropping the call idea on this company.
I will look into the other two you mentioned.

I have received an analyst opinion (from a subscription) on DIS which is very bearish. After reading it I did some digging into the quarterly/annual reports and also read couple other analysts reports. While the analyst reports are unanimously bullish, I am concerned with few things when I looked into balance sheet and all details from the annual report. I am dropping the idea of calls on this company and in fact if it goes back to recent highs, will look into puts.
ps: I got out from FDX calls in time based on the info from same subscription recently.
